Sprout Social ranks first because it handles the three jobs most teams buy a social tool for, publishing, engagement and reporting, at a depth the cheaper tools do not match. The new Essentials plan, $79 per seat per month billed yearly, covers 5 profiles, optimal send times and profile and post-level reporting, which lowers the entry price for small teams. Standard at $199 per seat adds the consolidated inbox, keyword and location monitoring and review management. Professional at $299 per seat opens unlimited profiles, message tagging and extensive competitor, tag and paid insights, and Advanced adds sentiment in the inbox, the Sprout API and helpdesk integrations. Every plan includes Trellis, Sprout's AI agent, with 100 credits per seat a month. The trade-off is cost: a five-person team on Professional pays close to $1,500 a month, and listening and premium analytics are sold separately. Use the 30-day trial to confirm which tier you really need.
