Amp takes a different route from the rest of this list: it sells the environment where agents run rather than the model. Each agent gets its own orb, which keeps working after you close the laptop, can wake itself on a new Linear issue, a failing CI run on main or a schedule it sets, and can be shared with teammates who take control of the same agent, code and running app. You bring the model, either through ChatGPT or Claude subscriptions or your own API keys, and Amp says it charges no token fees. The Hobby tier is free with pay-as-you-go hosted orbs and unlimited self-hosted orbs, and Megawatt at $20 a month includes 45,000 minutes of hosted orb time. Team workspaces cost nothing extra and include SAML/OIDC SSO, while Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs and IP allowlisting. It scores lower on ease of use because you have to manage model access and orb minutes yourself.
Who it is for
Developers and small teams who want long-running agents and would rather bring their own model keys or subscriptions.
