Devin Desktop (Windsurf) review

Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf, and Cognition says plans, pricing, extensions and settings carry over as an over-the-air update. The editor still offers unlimited Tab completions and inline edits on every plan, which makes the Free tier unusually generous for completion-focused developers. Pro at $20 a month adds larger quotas, frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and SpaceXAI, free use of the in-house SWE-2 model and Devin Cloud agents. The interface now puts an agent command center first, with Spaces, a Kanban board and multi-agent management, while the full IDE stays available. Developers on IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm or WebStorm can keep using Windsurf for JetBrains. Teams cost $80 a month plus $40 per full seat for up to 200 users. The downsides are the rebrand, which splits documentation across two names, and a light agent quota on the free plan.
