Navan says the travel side is funded by provider commissions. Navan Expense is free for the first 5 monthly expensing users and then $15 per user per month, and an expensing user is anyone who submits a transaction that month. It covers reimbursements, receipt scanning, connections to existing corporate cards and ERP integrations. For a company that travels a lot, keeping policy enforcement in the booking step is a real advantage. The gap is purchasing: Navan does not list purchase requests, purchase orders or bill approval, so it complements a payables tool rather than replacing one.
