By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 5, 2026 · Next review December 20, 2026 · 10 products scored

Our pickSimpleTextingSmall businesses that want to send promotions, reminders and replies by text without a learning curve.8.8

Our pick in brief

SimpleTexting ranks first because it puts every core texting feature, three user seats and rollover credits on a $29 plan and pairs them with seven-day live support. EZ Texting is the best value start at $20 per month billed annually and adds text-to-pay links, while SlickText includes workflows and popups on its entry plan. Postscript and Klaviyo lead for online stores that want texts driven by order data, Textedly suits service businesses that collect payments and reviews by text, and Attentive is the enterprise option for large retail programs.

Quick answer

SimpleTexting is the best SMS marketing software for small businesses in 2026, at $29 per month for 500 credits with three users included; EZ Texting suits businesses that want text-to-pay links and the lowest entry price, and Postscript suits Shopify brands. The cheapest verified paid plan is EZ Texting Launch at $20 per month billed annually.

This list is for businesses that text customers, whether that means weekly promotions, appointment reminders, order updates or payment links. We compared documented features and published prices for ten SMS marketing platforms, from simple credit-based texting tools to ecommerce platforms that run texts and email from the same customer data. Scores cover features, ease of use and value, and the overall score is a weighted average of the three. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page on the date shown. Prices we could not confirm in US dollars, or that are only available as custom quotes, are marked as pending.

From $29 per month for 500 credits billed monthly, 20% less billed yearly; a local number adds $10 per month

Quoted from the SimpleTexting pricing page on November 5, 2026: Estimated monthly cost $ 39.00 (billed yearly at $ 398.40 ) +$4 one-time carrier registration Cost breakdown 500 credits Extra credits billed @ 5.5 ¢ each $ 29 Local number Same-day activation $10

SimpleTexting covers what most small businesses need from text marketing and keeps the setup short. The entry plan costs $29 per month for 500 credits, and paying yearly cuts the price by 20%. Every paid plan includes mass texting, two-way conversations with free incoming replies, auto-replies, drip campaigns, MMS, unlimited contacts and keywords, opt-in forms, segments and three user seats, so there is no feature gate to plan around. Unused credits roll over, which helps seasonal senders. SimpleTexting can text-enable an existing landline or toll-free number, and support runs seven days a week by phone, text, chat and email. The costs to watch are add-ons: a local number is $10 per month plus a $4 activation fee, each extra teammate is $20 per month, and carrier fees average about $0.0025 per US message on top. Shops that need deep ecommerce flows tied to store data will get more from Postscript or Klaviyo.

    Price

Launch from $20 per month billed annually ($25 monthly) with 500 monthly credits; Boost from $60 and Scale from $100 billed annually

Quoted from the EZ Texting pricing page on November 5, 2026: Launch Recommended for: up to 500 contacts Starting at $ 25 / Month Starting at $ 20 / Month Billed Annually

EZ Texting has the cheapest verified way into a full texting platform on this list. Launch costs $20 per month billed annually or $25 monthly and includes 500 credits a month, unlimited contacts, keywords, QR codes, signup forms and click-to-text buttons. All plans share the same core tools: AI Reply and AI Compose, a Shutterstock media library, a scheduling calendar, drip campaigns, a team inbox, call forwarding, branded contact cards and text-to-pay or text-to-donate links, plus an open API. Higher tiers mainly change the number you send from. Boost at $60 per month billed annually moves you to a high-volume local number and waives the $5 telecom fee, and Scale at $100 adds a faster number and an onboarding specialist. The catch on Launch is one included user and $0.04 overage credits, so a team that texts often will move up quickly. EZ Texting also supports Canada and offers RCS messaging.

    Strengths

    • +Lowest verified entry price on this list
    • +Text-to-pay and text-to-donate links on every plan
    • +Boost and Scale waive the monthly telecom fee

    Drawbacks

    Price

From $29 per month for 500 credits; yearly billing adds 2 months free

Quoted from the SlickText pricing page on November 5, 2026: Price per month $29 500 credits per month

SlickText prices purely on message volume and keeps every feature on every plan, which makes it easy to budget. The entry plan is $29 per month for 500 credits, and the ladder runs through $49 for 1,000, $79 for 2,000 and up to $939 for 50,000 credits. Each tier includes campaigns, a one-on-one inbox, multi-branch workflows, web forms, popups, dynamic segments, analytics and integrations, along with free incoming texts, unlimited contacts and rollover credits. Live phone, chat and email support is available from the first plan, which is rare at this price. Annual billing adds two months of credits for free and lets you spend them unevenly across the year. The limits are geographic and service related. SlickText sends only to the US and Canada, 1-on-1 onboarding starts at the $129 plan, a dedicated success manager starts at $579, and RCS carries separate setup and annual fees.

    Strengths

    • +Full feature access on every plan, including workflows and integrations
    • +Live phone, chat and email support from the entry plan
    • +Unused credits roll over for one billing term

    Drawbacks

    • −Sends only to the United States and Canada
    • −1-on-1 onboarding starts at the $129 plan

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Klaviyo pricing page.

Klaviyo makes the most sense when texts are one part of a wider ecommerce program. SMS sits on the same customer profile as email, so segments, flows and reporting cover both, and multi-channel flows can pick the right channel for each shopper. The SMS tools include automated keyword conversations, an AI Customer Agent that answers questions and recommends products, separate marketing and transactional consent, a Compliance Hub, location-based messages and Shopify POS data that links in-store purchases back to campaigns. The free plan covers 250 active profiles, 500 emails and $5 of mobile messages a month, which is enough to test texting. Paid pricing depends on profile count and message volume, and we could not confirm a USD starting price at our check, so it is marked pending. The trade-off is complexity: teams that only want to send texts will set up SimpleTexting or SlickText faster.

    Strengths

    • +Free plan includes $5 of mobile messages a month
    • +Email and SMS share segments and reporting
    • +Shopify POS data ties in-store sales to campaigns

    Drawbacks

    • −Paid pricing depends on profiles and message volume, so it takes a calculator
    • −Free plan email support ends after 60 days
    • −More setup than a texting-only tool

Starter has no subscription but a $49 monthly minimum spend at $0.009 per SMS; Growth $100 per month; Professional $500 per month

Quoted from the Postscript pricing page on November 5, 2026: Starter $0/mo. $49 monthly minimum spend Brands getting started with SMS $0.009/SMS, $0.045/MMS + Carrier fees*

Postscript is the most store-focused SMS tool here, and its pricing reflects that. Starter has no subscription fee but a $49 monthly minimum spend, with SMS at $0.009 and MMS at $0.045 plus carrier fees. Growth at $100 per month lowers the message rate, unlocks unlimited opt-in keywords and adds live chat support, and Professional at $500 per month adds enhanced analytics, API access and removes the Postscript badge from opt-ins. Every plan includes a visual flow builder with cart and browse abandonment, welcome, upsell and shipping templates, popups and checkout collection, Shopify-based segmentation, response management and a dedicated toll-free number. Postscript now also sends RCS and email, and its AI Plan at $699 per month adds Infinity Testing and Shopper journeys. The fit is narrow on purpose. Brands outside Shopify, or businesses that mainly send reminders and local offers, will find SimpleTexting or EZ Texting easier.

    Strengths

    • +Per-message pricing with carrier fees passed through at cost
    • +No profile fees as the list grows
    • +30-day trial with a $100 message credit

    Drawbacks

    Price

From $29 per month for 500 messages; annual billing adds 20% more texts per month

Quoted from the Textedly pricing page on November 5, 2026: Textedly pricing starts at $29/month and scales with your message volume.

Textedly keeps pricing simple: one feature set, many volume tiers. Basic costs $29 per month for 500 messages, Bronze $49 for 1,000 and Elite $169 for 5,000, and paying annually adds 20% more texts each month instead of a discount. Every account gets text-to-pay requests through Stripe, Google review requests, MMS, contact enrichment and conversational AI voice and SMS agents, and messages can run to 1,600 characters. Each account includes a free toll-free number and a free 10DLC number, and Textedly pays the carrier registration for the first local number. Teammates are unlimited at $10 per month each. A free account starts you with 50 messages and one keyword with no time limit, which is a fair way to test the interface. The published material says less about workflow depth and segmentation than SlickText or SimpleTexting, so stores that run complex journeys may want to trial both.

    Strengths

    • +Every plan includes every feature
    • +Covers 10DLC registration for the first local number
    • +Unlimited teammates at $10 per month each

    Drawbacks

    • −Free account is a one-time 50 messages, not a monthly plan
    • −Keyword limits rise only with higher tiers

Pro, which includes SMS, lists $177 for the first three months at 2,500 contacts (about $59 per month) and shows $41.30 per month with a 30% introductory discount; SMS from $0.007

Quoted from the Omnisend pricing page on November 5, 2026: Pro Best for high-volume senders aimed at adding extra power with SMS $41.30 /mo Billed monthly Total of: $177.00 $123.90 today -30%

Omnisend suits stores that want email and texting in one tool without enterprise pricing. SMS and MMS sit on the Pro plan, which the pricing page lists at $177 for the first three months at 2,500 contacts, about $59 a month, shown as $41.30 a month during a 30% introductory discount. Pro adds unlimited monthly emails, advanced reporting, AI agents for forms, dynamic content and product recommendations, and bonus SMS credits equal to your monthly bill. US message rates start at $0.009 and drop to $0.007 for spend of $10,000 or more, and MMS is limited to the US and Canada. Support runs 24/7 by live chat and email on every plan, and Omnisend migrates lists, segments and flows for free. The drawback for an SMS list is that the Free and Standard plans do not send texts, so Pro is the real starting point, and its price climbs with your contact count.

    Strengths

    • +Pro adds SMS credits equal to your monthly bill
    • +US SMS rates fall from $0.009 to $0.007 with volume
    • +24/7 support on every plan

    Price

From $25 per month, including one dedicated US, Canada, UK or France number; US messages $0.0304 per segment on that plan

Quoted from the Sakari pricing page on November 5, 2026: We offer both month-to-month and annual subscription messaging plans, starting at $25 USD per month , and include one free dedicated number from the US, Canada, the UK, or France

Sakari is the pick here for teams that text from a CRM or across borders. Plans start at $25 per month and include one free dedicated number in the US, Canada, the UK or France, or an alphanumeric sender ID, and add-on numbers in more than 20 countries start at $4 per month. On the entry plan a US message costs $0.0304 per segment, and MMS adds $0.02. All plans include unlimited users and contacts, rollover credits that last 90 days, mass texting, two-way messaging, auto-replies, drip campaigns, opt-in forms, a URL shortener, API access and native integrations with HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Pipedrive and Slack. That mix fits sales and service teams more than retail marketers. Sakari lacks the popups, store-driven flows and payment links that Postscript, Klaviyo or EZ Texting offer, so ecommerce brands will find more in those tools.

    Strengths

    • +Unlimited users at no extra charge
    • +Free number in the US, Canada, UK or France
    • +CRM integrations included on all plans

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Attentive pricing page.

Attentive is built for big retail programs, and its sales model shows it. There is no public price list: plans are assembled with the sales team based on message volume, subscriber list size, channels and premium AI tools. Every plan includes strategic planning, onboarding and deliverability help, a dedicated support team with 24/5 service, 150+ pre-built integrations, the Attentive Signal identity tag, patented two-tap sign-up units, pre-built cross-channel journeys, A/B testing, campaign and segment reporting and built-in TCPA compliance tools. Beyond SMS, the platform sends email, RCS and push, and reaches subscribers in more than 20 countries. That depth and service is why large brands use it, but it also places Attentive out of reach for most small businesses, and the lack of published pricing makes direct comparison hard. Mid-size stores will usually get similar ecommerce flows from Postscript or Klaviyo at a known price.

    Strengths

    • +Dedicated support team and strategic planning on every plan
    • +SMS, email, RCS and push in one platform
    • +Messaging in 20+ countries

    Drawbacks

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Textmagic pricing page.

Textmagic works on prepaid credit rather than a monthly plan, which suits businesses whose sending swings from month to month. The account covers mass texting, automation workflows triggered by forms, replies and appointments, a shared team inbox, an omnichannel chat widget and email campaigns, with unlimited contacts and users. Compliance help is a strong point: Textmagic guides US 10DLC and toll-free registration with AI checks before submission, handles STOP and HELP replies, and helps with consent capture for the UK and Canada. It also connects to AI assistants through MCP alongside a standard API and integrations. We could not confirm which country the default rates on the pricing page referred to when fetched from our location, so the USD price is marked pending. Marketers who want popups, store-triggered flows or payment links will find more in SlickText, EZ Texting or Postscript.

What to check before you buy

Count credits, not contacts

Most texting tools here price by monthly credits, where one SMS to one person uses one credit and an MMS usually uses three. Multiply your list by how often you plan to text, then add room for picture messages. A 500-person list texted twice a month already needs about 1,000 credits.

Add the number and carrier fees

The plan price is rarely the whole bill. SimpleTexting charges $10 per month for a local number, EZ Texting adds a $5 telecom fee on Launch, and most vendors pass carrier fees through, which SimpleTexting puts at about $0.0025 per US message and Postscript at about $0.0033 per SMS.

Pick a number type early

Local 10DLC numbers suit most small businesses, toll-free numbers work well for national brands, and dedicated short codes handle the highest volumes but cost $1,000 per month or more and take weeks to provision. Each type needs carrier registration before you can send marketing texts.

Decide whether you need store data

If you sell online, tools such as Postscript, Klaviyo and Omnisend trigger texts from carts, orders and browsing. If you mainly send offers, reminders and replies, a texting-first tool like SimpleTexting, EZ Texting or SlickText is easier to set up and cheaper to run.

Check seats and support

Team access varies widely. SimpleTexting includes three users, Sakari includes unlimited users, and EZ Texting includes one on its entry plans. Live phone support at the entry price is offered by SlickText and SimpleTexting, while Postscript adds live chat from Growth.

Common questions

What is the best SMS marketing software in 2026?
SimpleTexting is our top pick for most small businesses, at $29 per month for 500 credits with three users and rollover credits included. EZ Texting is the best value alternative, and Postscript is the best choice for Shopify stores.
Which SMS marketing software is cheapest?
EZ Texting Launch is the cheapest verified paid plan on our list at $20 per month billed annually, or $25 monthly, for 500 credits. Sakari starts at $25 per month, and SimpleTexting, SlickText and Textedly start at $29 per month.
Is there free SMS marketing software?
Klaviyo's free plan includes $5 of mobile messages a month alongside 250 active profiles. Textedly gives new accounts 50 free messages and one keyword, and EZ Texting, SlickText and Sakari offer 14-day free trials.
How much does a text message cost to send?
It depends on the plan and volume. Postscript charges $0.009 per SMS on Starter, Omnisend's US rates run from $0.009 to $0.007, and Sakari's entry plan works out to $0.0304 per segment. Carrier fees are usually added on top.
What is the best SMS tool for Shopify stores?
Postscript is built around Shopify data, with cart and browse abandonment flows, checkout collection and Shopify-based segments. Klaviyo and Omnisend are strong alternatives if you also want email on the same platform.
How did we rank these tools?
We compared documented features and published prices from each vendor's own site and scored features, ease of use and value. The overall score weights features and ease of use at 35% each and value at 30%.
