10 Best Marketing Automation Software of 2026
By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 5, 2026 · Next review December 20, 2026 · 10 products scored
Our pick in brief
HubSpot Marketing Hub is the safest pick for most B2B and B2C teams because its automation, CRM, attribution reporting and AI nurture tools share one contact record, and the free plan and $20 Starter seat let you start small. ActiveCampaign gives small teams multi-step automation for $15 a month and scales to predictive sending on Pro. Brevo and Klaviyo are the strongest free starting points, Brevo for multichannel small business campaigns and Klaviyo for ecommerce flows. Zoho Marketing Automation and GetResponse are low-cost options with lead scoring. Customer.io fits product-led companies that trigger messages from app events. Adobe Marketo Engage, Act-On and Salesforce Account Engagement are B2B platforms for larger teams with annual contracts and bigger budgets.
Quick answer
HubSpot Marketing Hub is the best marketing automation software for teams that want nurture, CRM data and reporting in one place in 2026, with a free plan and Starter listed at $20 per seat per month. ActiveCampaign suits small teams that need multi-step automation on a budget, starting at $15 a month billed yearly for 1,000 contacts. Brevo and Klaviyo both have permanent free plans for teams that want to start without paying.
This list is for marketing managers, demand generation leads and lifecycle marketers choosing a platform to run nurture sequences, score leads and trigger campaigns from customer behavior. We compared documented features and published prices for 10 tools, from small business email platforms to enterprise B2B suites, and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor's page on the date we checked. Adobe Marketo Engage does not publish prices, and Brevo, Klaviyo and Zoho showed only non-USD prices from our location, so their pricing is marked as pending.

Free plan; Starter listed at $20 per seat per month ($10 for new customers for a limited time), Professional from $100 per seat
Quoted from the HubSpot Marketing Hub pricing page on November 5, 2026:
Starter Starts at $10 $20 /month per seat*
HubSpot Marketing Hub ranks first because it covers the full lifecycle on one CRM record without asking a small team to commit to an enterprise contract. The free plan already automates email campaigns and includes live chat and an AI assistant. Starter, listed at $20 per seat per month and discounted to $10 for new customers for a limited time, adds calls-to-action and removes HubSpot branding. Professional, from $100 per seat, is where most nurture and scoring programs will live: it adds content personalization, AI search visibility tools and a customer agent. HubSpot also lists a Nurture Agent that rewrites each nurture email using CRM data and behavior, WhatsApp and SMS messaging, lookalike lists and multi-touch attribution with customer path analytics. Enterprise, from $175 per seat, adds revenue tracking, multiple accounts and data access controls. The trade-off is cost at scale: seat pricing adds up quickly on Professional and Enterprise, so model your team size before you upgrade.
Strengths
- +A permanent free plan with email automation and live chat
- +Marketing, sales and service data share one CRM record
- +Clear upgrade path from Starter to Enterprise
Drawbacks
- −Professional and Enterprise are priced per seat, so costs grow with the team
- −Advanced reporting and personalization sit on Professional and above
- −The $10 Starter price is a limited offer for new customers only
- Free plan
- Yes
- Paid tiers
- Starter $20, Professional from $100, Enterprise from $175 per seat per month

Starter from $15 per month billed yearly for 1,000 contacts; Plus $49, Pro $79, Enterprise $145
Quoted from the ActiveCampaign pricing page on November 5, 2026:
Starter For getting your first automations live. Starts at $15 / Month Billed yearly for 1,000 contacts
ActiveCampaign is the best value for teams that want real multi-step automation without a large contract. Every plan, including the $15 Starter billed yearly for 1,000 contacts, includes multi-step marketing automation, AI-powered automation and campaign builders, and email campaigns with more than 250 templates. Plus, at $49, adds cross-channel marketing, generative AI for content and images, landing pages and site messages, and makes the Enhanced CRM add-on available. Pro, at $79, is the plan lifecycle marketers will want: predictive sending at each contact's best time, conditional content inside one email, advanced segmentation, and attribution and conversion tracking with 200 active business goals. Enterprise at $145 adds single sign-on, HIPAA support, custom objects and Salesforce integration. The limits are seats and tiers. Starter and Plus include a single user, Pro includes three, and several features that matter for scoring and segmentation are held for Pro and Enterprise. Prices also rise with contact count, so price your list before you commit.
Strengths
- +Multi-step automation is included on the $15 Starter plan
- +Pro adds predictive sending and attribution for $79
- +Prices shown in USD by contact tier, so costs are easy to model
Drawbacks
- −Starter and Plus include only 1 user seat
- −Cross-channel marketing and generative AI start on Plus
- −Single sign-on and premium segmentation need Enterprise
- Free plan
- No
- Paid tiers

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Brevo pricing page.
Brevo is a practical choice for small businesses that want to start free and add automation as they grow. The free plan needs no credit card. Starter adds email from 5,000 sends a month, a drag-and-drop editor, an AI content generator, advanced segmentation and forms that trigger follow-up emails. Standard is the first plan with marketing automation, and Brevo lists an unlimited number of multi-step workflows plus A/B testing, AI send time optimization, web and event tracking and a landing page. Professional adds WhatsApp, popups and push channels, 10 seats, AI segmentation and contact scoring that includes RFM and CLV models, which is the tier B2B teams would need for lead scoring. Pricing from our location was shown in euros only, so we have marked the USD price as pending. The main trade-off is the jump from Standard to Professional: scoring and multi-user access sit on a much more expensive plan than the entry tiers.
Strengths
- +A free forever plan with no credit card needed
- +Standard includes unlimited automation workflows and A/B testing
- +Many channels available in one account
Drawbacks
- −Marketing automation is not included on Starter

See vendor pricing (USD check pending): free plan for up to 250 profiles and 500 emails a month
We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Klaviyo pricing page.
Klaviyo is the specialist pick for ecommerce lifecycle automation. Its flows cover the programs online stores run most: abandoned cart split by cart size, browse abandonment, post-purchase follow-up split by order count, review requests, price drop alerts and back-in-stock reminders. Conditional splits branch a flow by actions a person has or has not taken, profile data, location, list membership, predictive analytics or a random sample for A/B tests, and trigger splits can use the cart value or product category from the event that started the flow. Email, SMS and push run in the same flow, and webhooks send data to other tools for things like loyalty points. The free plan includes up to 250 profiles, 500 email sends a month and $5 of mobile messages. Paid prices did not load in USD in our check, so pricing is pending. B2B teams will find less here for lead scoring and sales handoff.
Strengths
- +A free plan with 250 profiles and 500 email sends a month
- +Flow templates cover the common ecommerce lifecycle programs
- +Trigger splits can use cart value and product category
Drawbacks
- −Built for B2C, with little aimed at B2B lead scoring
- −Paid plan prices did not load in our check
- −The free plan is small for an established store
- Free plan
- Yes, up to 250 profiles and 500 emails per month

From $19 per month for 1,000 subscribers; unlimited workflows start on Marketer
Quoted from the GetResponse pricing page on November 5, 2026:
Monthly payment plans are bracketed by list size, starting at $19 per month for unlimited messages to 1,000 subscribers.
GetResponse is an approachable all-in-one tool for small businesses that want automation alongside email and landing pages. Pricing starts at $19 a month for unlimited messages to 1,000 subscribers, and every plan includes unlimited email sends, AI content generators, a welcome series, landing pages, signup forms and popups. Starter is limited to one custom automation workflow, so most teams running nurture programs will want Marketer, which adds unlimited workflows, advanced segmentation, abandoned cart recovery, sales funnels and web push. The automation builder lists contact scoring and tagging, visited URL and event-based triggers, purchase automation and dynamic segmentation, which covers basic lead scoring. Creator adds webinars, a website builder and a course creator. Enterprise adds a dedicated IP, single sign-on and transactional emails. GetResponse lacks the CRM depth of HubSpot and the B2B sales alignment of Marketo or Act-On, but for a small team it is easy to learn and inexpensive.
Strengths
- +Unlimited monthly email sends on every plan
- +Contact scoring and tagging built into workflows
- +14-day free trial without a credit card
Drawbacks
- −Starter is limited to 1 custom automation workflow
- −Webinars and course tools sit on the Creator plan
- −Dedicated IP and transactional email are Enterprise only

Zoho Marketing Automation packs B2B features into an inexpensive, contact-based plan. Every tier includes unlimited emails, free onboarding, signup forms and pop-ups, and 1,000,000 non-marketing contacts. Standard includes 10 users, basic segmentation, a basic workflow builder with templates, SMS, social and WhatsApp marketing and website behavior tracking. Professional is the tier for nurture and scoring: complete contact management with scoring, tags and lifecycle stages, advanced segmentation, an advanced workflow builder with reports, landing pages, A/B testing and a marketing planner, with 15 users. Enterprise adds lead attribution, X-RAY tracing of workflows, webhooks, custom roles and 25 users. Zoho also lists lead stages to classify prospects by engagement and an integration that pulls leads from Zoho CRM. Prices showed in euros from our location, so we have marked the USD price as pending. The interface is less polished than HubSpot's, and the deepest reporting sits on Enterprise.
Strengths
- +Unlimited emails and free onboarding on every plan
- +Includes 10 users on Standard, 15 on Professional and 25 on Enterprise

Essentials from $100 per month billed monthly for 5,000 profiles; Premium from $1,000 per month billed yearly
Quoted from the Customer.io pricing page on November 5, 2026:
Essentials starts at $ 100 per month / billed monthly
Customer.io is the right tool when lifecycle messages should fire from what users do inside a product rather than from form fills. Its visual workflow builder automates campaigns across email, mobile and web push, in-app messages, SMS, WhatsApp, LINE and webhooks. Essentials, from $100 a month billed monthly, includes 5,000 profiles, 1 million emails a month, two object types, unlimited user seats and unlimited push and in-app messages. Segments, custom objects, an AI-powered segment builder, send-time optimization, A/B and multivariate testing, conversion tracking and reverse ETL are listed on every plan. Premium, from $1,000 a month billed yearly, adds 10 object types, data warehouse destinations, HIPAA compliance and premium support. Early-stage companies that raised under $10M can get a year free. The trade-off is setup: you need event data flowing in from your app, which usually means engineering time. There is also no B2B lead scoring or sales handoff, so it is not a fit for classic demand generation.
Strengths
- +1 million emails a month and unlimited seats on Essentials
- +Unlimited push and in-app messages on every plan
- +A startup program gives a full year free to companies that raised under $10M
Drawbacks
- −Built for data and product teams, so setup needs developer help
- −No B2B lead scoring or CRM-style sales handoff
- −Premium starts at $1,000 a month billed yearly
- Profiles included
- 5,000 on Essentials

See vendor pricing (USD check pending): four packages, Growth, Select, Prime and Ultimate, priced through sales
We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Adobe Marketo Engage pricing page.
Adobe Marketo Engage has the deepest feature set on this list for B2B nurture and scoring. Adobe lists multi-step campaigns that adapt to behavior and data changes, intelligent cross-channel nurturing across email, web, mobile, chat, events, webinars and digital ads, and scoring, routing and alerts that update lead scores automatically. Native, bi-directional integrations with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and Veeva deliver engagement data to sales in the CRM. Reporting includes out-of-the-box dashboards, custom reports and multi-touch attribution, and higher packages add predictive content, predictive audiences, dynamic chat, target account management and sandboxes. Workspaces and partitions let large organizations separate data by team or region. Adobe now adds agentic AI for campaign creation and operations. Marketo is sold in four packages, Growth, Select, Prime and Ultimate, with no public prices. The trade-off is effort and cost: it rewards teams with a dedicated marketing operations staff and is more platform than a small team can use.
Strengths
- +The deepest scoring and nurture controls on this list
- +Bi-directional CRM sync keeps sales and marketing data aligned
- +Workspaces and partitions separate data for teams and regions
Drawbacks
- −No published prices
- −Needs a skilled administrator to build and maintain programs
- −Several features are limited to higher packages

Professional from $900 per month for 2,500 active contacts; annual contract required
Quoted from the Act-On pricing page on November 5, 2026:
A platform for the energetic marketer $ USD £ GPB $900 per month
Act-On is a dedicated B2B marketing automation platform with an unusual pricing model. Instead of charging for every contact in the database, it charges for Active Contacts, the contacts you engage in a given month, and keeps the engagement history of inactive contacts so you do not have to purge them. Professional starts at $900 a month for 2,500 active contacts and includes automated engagement programs, website and landing page visitor tracking, scoring for visitors, prospects and customers, behavioral and demographic lists, landing pages and forms, an open API and AI predictive lead scoring. Enterprise adds CRM integration with Salesforce, SugarCRM, NetSuite and Dynamics, Data Studio for BI reporting, account-based marketing and twice the user accounts. On Professional, several of those are paid add-ons. An annual contract is required. Act-On suits B2B teams with a big database and a smaller active audience, but its entry price is high for small companies.
Strengths
- +Active Contact pricing charges only for contacts you email
- +Inactive contacts keep their engagement history
- +Open API plus Zapier and Cazoomi connections
Drawbacks
- −Starts at $900 a month, the highest entry price here after Salesforce
- −An annual contract is required
- −CRM integration, account-based marketing and Data Studio are add-ons on Professional

Growth+ from $1,250 per org per month billed annually; Plus+ $2,750, Advanced+ $4,400
Quoted from the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement pricing page on November 5, 2026:
Growth+ Fuel growth with marketing automation. $ 1,250 USD/Org/Month (Billed annually)
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, the product formerly called Pardot, is the natural choice for B2B teams that already run their sales process in Salesforce. It works directly with Salesforce CRM objects such as Leads, Contacts and Opportunities, so nurture activity and scores land where reps already work. Growth+, at $1,250 per org per month billed annually, includes 10,000 contacts, lead nurturing and scoring, Agentforce campaign creation, 50 forms, 50 form handlers and 50 landing pages. Plus+, at $2,750, adds AI-powered scoring, B2B Marketing Analytics, account-based marketing and unlimited forms and landing pages. Advanced+ at $4,400 adds business units and a dedicated IP address. Every edition now includes Marketing Cloud Next features, such as SMS and WhatsApp as add-ons and Salesforce Flow for marketers. The downsides are price and complexity: every edition needs an annual contract, and the entry plan costs more than any other verified price here.
Strengths
- +Runs on the same Salesforce CRM objects sales already uses
- +Every edition includes Marketing Cloud Next through Account Engagement+
- +Clear published prices by edition
Drawbacks
- −Starts at $1,250 a month, the highest entry price on this list
- −All editions require an annual contract
- −Growth+ caps forms and landing pages at 50 each

- 10,000 on Growth+, Plus+ and Advanced+; 75,000 on Premium+

What to check before you buy
Start from the lifecycle you need to automate
Write down the three or four programs you will build first: a welcome series, a lead nurture track, a trial or onboarding sequence, an abandoned cart flow or a win-back campaign. B2B nurture and lead scoring point toward HubSpot, Marketo, Act-On or Salesforce Account Engagement. Ecommerce flows point toward Klaviyo or Brevo. Product events from an app point toward Customer.io.
Check what lead scoring each plan includes
Scoring is often held back for higher tiers. Brevo lists contact scoring on Professional, Zoho lists scoring from Professional, and Salesforce keeps AI-powered scoring for Plus+. Confirm the plan you can afford includes the scoring model you plan to hand to sales.
Model the price at your real contact count
Headline prices assume a small list. ActiveCampaign and Zoho price by contacts, Customer.io by profiles, Act-On by contacts emailed each month, HubSpot by seat plus marketing contacts, and Salesforce by org with a contact block. Price your current list and the size you expect in a year before you compare.
Confirm the CRM sync
Nurture and scoring only help if sales sees the result. HubSpot and Salesforce Account Engagement run on their own CRMs, Marketo lists native integrations with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and Veeva, and Act-On lists Salesforce, SugarCRM, NetSuite and Dynamics on Enterprise. Check field mapping and sync direction for your CRM.
Plan for setup time
Enterprise B2B suites need an administrator to build programs, scoring rules and integrations, and most require an annual contract. Smaller teams usually get running faster with ActiveCampaign, Brevo, GetResponse or HubSpot Starter, which ship with templates for common workflows.
Common questions
- What is marketing automation software?
- It is software that sends emails and other messages automatically based on rules, timing and contact behavior, such as a welcome series after a signup or a nurture track after a webinar. Most tools also score leads, segment contacts and report on which campaigns produce customers.
- What is the best free marketing automation software?
- HubSpot Marketing Hub has a permanent free plan that automates email campaigns. Brevo's free plan needs no credit card, and Klaviyo's free plan covers up to 250 profiles and 500 emails a month. Brevo's multi-step automation starts on its paid Standard plan.
- How much does marketing automation software cost?
- Verified entry prices on this list run from $15 a month billed yearly for ActiveCampaign Starter with 1,000 contacts to $1,250 per org per month for Salesforce Account Engagement Growth+. HubSpot Starter is listed at $20 per seat, GetResponse at $19, Customer.io Essentials at $100 and Act-On Professional at $900 a month.
- Which tools include lead scoring?
- HubSpot, Marketo, Act-On and Salesforce Account Engagement are built around B2B scoring. Zoho includes scoring on Professional, Brevo on Professional, and GetResponse lists contact scoring in its automation tools.
- HubSpot or Marketo?
- HubSpot is easier to set up, publishes prices and includes its own CRM. Marketo offers deeper scoring, partitions and account targeting for large teams, but it has no public prices and needs a dedicated administrator.
