Zed review

Zed is an open source editor that treats AI as a core feature without forcing a subscription. The Personal plan is free forever and works with your own API keys or external agents such as Claude Agent, Codex CLI and OpenCode through the Agent Client Protocol. Pro at $10 a month adds Zed-hosted models, unlimited edit predictions from Zeta, its open-weight prediction model, and $5 of tokens, with usage billing beyond that. The agent edits files and shows its work in an editable unified diff that you accept or reject before committing, and MCP servers can extend what it knows. Business at $30 per seat adds org-wide model policies and data controls, though SSO, SAML and SCIM are not available yet. A 14-day Pro trial needs no card. The small included token balance means agent-heavy users will pay usage on top, and the feature set is narrower than Cursor's.
