10 Best SEO Tools of 2026

By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 5, 2026 · Next review December 20, 2026 · 10 products scored

Our pickSemrushIn-house marketing teams that want one suite for research, technical audits, rank tracking and AI visibility reporting.8.6

Our pick in brief

Semrush is the most complete choice for an in-house team because one subscription covers keyword and competitor research, Site Audit, daily position tracking and AI visibility reports, and its free plan and 7-day trial let you test before paying. Ahrefs is the closest rival and the better fit for consultants who spend most of their time in backlink and competitor data, with Lite at $129 a month and a $29 Starter plan for research only. SE Ranking gives similar breadth at a lower list price and adds local listing management. Moz Pro is the easiest suite to learn and has a $49 entry plan. Serpstat is the strongest value for multi-user teams, with three users and API access on its $100 Team plan. Mangools and Ubersuggest are simple, low-cost suites for single sites. Search Atlas automates fixes with its OTTO agent, Screaming Frog is the technical crawler most suites pair with, and Conductor serves enterprise teams on custom contracts.

Quick answer

Semrush is the best SEO tool for in-house marketers who want keyword research, site audits, rank tracking and AI search visibility in one suite in 2026, from $139 a month or $117.33 billed annually. Ahrefs suits consultants who work from backlink and competitor data, with the Lite plan at $129 a month. Ubersuggest is the cheapest full suite here at US$29 a month, and Semrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog all offer free versions.

This list is for in-house marketers, SEO leads and independent consultants choosing one SEO suite to research keywords, audit sites, track rankings and report on visibility in AI answers. We compared documented features and published prices for 10 tools, from large all-in-one platforms to lighter budget suites, a desktop crawler and an enterprise platform, and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor's pricing page on the date we checked. SE Ranking, Mangools and Screaming Frog showed only euro prices from our location, and Conductor does not publish prices, so their pricing is marked as pending.

Free plan; SEO plan $139 per month, or $117.33 per month billed annually; Starter SEO + AI Search $199 and Pro+ $299 per month

    Quoted from the Semrush pricing page on November 5, 2026: $ 117 . 33 /mo billed annually instead of $ 139 monthly $ 139

Semrush takes first place because its cheapest SEO plan already covers the work most in-house teams repeat every week. The $139 SEO plan monitors 5 websites, tracks 500 keywords daily and includes keyword research, competitor analysis, Position Tracking, Site Audit and AI visibility reports with custom prompt monitoring. Starter SEO + AI Search, at $199 a month, adds 50 prompts tracked daily, an AI-ready Site Audit and MCP access, and Pro+ at $299 raises limits to 15 websites and 1,500 keywords with historical data, content optimization and multi-location tracking. Paying annually saves up to 17%, bringing the SEO plan to $117.33 a month. A free plan with 10 reports per day and a 7-day trial make it easy to test. The costs to watch are extra seats from $45 a month and reporting add-ons, since branded PDF reports sit in the $20 Pro Report add-on.

    • +Daily rank tracking on every paid tier
    • +Covers SEO, AI visibility, local, content and advertising toolkits from one account

Quoted from the Ahrefs pricing page on November 5, 2026: See what people search and spy on competitors. Learn more ↗ $ 29 / mo

Ahrefs ranks second and is the closest alternative to Semrush, with particular strength in backlink and competitor research built on its own crawler. Lite, at $129 a month, includes Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit with 100,000 crawl credits, Rank Tracker with 750 keywords, Brand Radar, 150 AI prompt checks, Web Analytics and API and MCP access. Ahrefs describes Standard, at $249, as the plan for freelance SEOs and marketing consultants; it adds Content Explorer, Portfolios, batch analysis, keyword clusters and 2 years of history. Advanced, at $449, is pitched at lean in-house teams and adds Looker Studio integration and 5 years of data. A $29 Starter plan covers research only, and Ahrefs Free gives data on your own site. The drawbacks are weekly rank updates on all plans and seat costs of $40 to $80 per extra user, so teams should price headcount before choosing.

    Strengths

    • +Free Ahrefs plan for your own verified sites and a $29 Starter plan for research
    • +Unlimited verified projects on every main plan
    • +Standard plan is aimed squarely at freelance SEOs and consultants

    Drawbacks

    • −Rank Tracker updates weekly, not daily

SE Ranking places third because its Core plan covers almost everything the two leaders do, with daily tracking and local tools that cost extra elsewhere. Core includes 10 projects, one manager seat, 2,000 keywords tracked daily, 250,000 audit pages a month and unlimited keyword, competitor and backlink research. It also bundles content marketing, local and map rank tracking, listing management across more than 100 directories, Data Studio, Matomo, GA and GSC integrations, and AI visibility tracking for 25 prompts a day across 5 AI engines. Growth raises limits to 30 projects, 3 manager seats and 5,000 keywords, and adds all-time historical data, guest links and page change monitoring. Consultants can add an Agency Pack for white-label reporting and client seats. The 14-day trial needs no credit card. We could not confirm USD prices because the page showed euros from our location.

    Strengths

    • +14-day free trial with no credit card required
    • +Local marketing and content tools included on Core
    • +API credits and MCP access on both main plans

Entry-level plan $49 per month for one site; Standard $99 per month or $79 billed yearly; Medium $179 and Large $299 per month

Quoted from the Moz Pro pricing page on November 5, 2026: Our entry-level plan is available for $49/month.

Moz Pro ranks fourth on ease of use and price clarity. A $49 entry plan serves individuals managing a single website, and Standard, at $99 a month or $79 billed yearly, includes one user, 3 tracked sites, 300 tracked keywords and 400,000 crawled pages a month. AI features are built into every tier: Standard has 3 AI Visibility Dashboards with 150 prompts tracked weekly across GPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, plus AI Overviews by keyword and 2 AI content briefs a month. Medium, at $179, adds a second user, 10 sites, 1,500 keywords and 5,000 keyword queries a month. Large, at $299, adds a third user and higher quotas. MozBar Premium and 24/7 support come with each plan. The main limit is research volume: Standard allows only 150 keyword queries a month, which a busy in-house team can use up quickly.

    Strengths

    • +$49 entry plan for a single website
    • +Medium includes 2 users and Large includes 3
    • +Save 20% with yearly billing

    Drawbacks

    • −Standard allows only 150 keyword queries a month
    • −AI prompt tracking runs weekly, not daily

Individual $50 per month billed annually ($600 upfront); Team $100, Team x2 $169 and Agency $410 per month billed annually

Quoted from the Serpstat pricing page on November 5, 2026: Individual $50 /mo SAVE $228 ANNUALLY

Serpstat ranks fifth and is one of the strongest values among the full suites. Individual, at $50 a month billed annually, gives one user 5 projects, 100 searches a day, 10,000 position checks a month with daily updates and 30,000 audit pages. The Team plan is the better buy for most teams: at $100 a month it includes 3 users, unlimited projects, 500 searches a day, 150,000 audit pages with JavaScript rendering, API access, an MCP integration for ChatGPT and Claude, batch domain analysis, keyword lists and 1,500 AI visibility checks a month across ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and other models. Team x2 doubles several limits for $169, and Agency, at $410, adds white-label reports and 30 users. A 7-day trial is available on Team. The trade-offs are that the Individual plan lacks API access and JavaScript rendering, and the advertised prices assume a year paid upfront.

    Strengths

    • +Team plan includes 3 users and unlimited projects
    • +Daily rank updates on every plan
    • +API and MCP access from the $100 Team plan

    Drawbacks

    • −Individual has no API, keyword lists or JavaScript rendering in audits
    • −Advertised prices assume annual billing

Mangools ranks sixth and is the easiest bundle here for a marketer who is not an SEO specialist. Every plan includes KWFinder for keyword research, SERPChecker for localized SERP analysis, SERPWatcher for rank tracking, LinkMiner for backlinks and SiteProfiler for domain metrics, plus AI Search Watcher with 500 monitored prompts and API and MCP access. Basic, aimed at solopreneurs and freelance marketers, allows 100 keyword lookups a day, 200 tracked keywords and 100,000 backlinks a month. Premium raises lookups to 500 a day and 700 tracked keywords and allows 3 extra seats, while Agency moves rank updates from weekly to daily. The gap is technical SEO: Mangools has no site audit crawler, so most users will pair it with a crawler such as Screaming Frog. Prices were shown only in euros from our location, so we could not confirm the USD amounts.

    Strengths

    • +Clean, single-purpose tools that are quick to learn
    • +API, MCP and AI Search Watcher included on every plan

    Quoted from the Ubersuggest pricing page on November 5, 2026: Ubersuggest logo US$ 29 - US$ 99

Ubersuggest ranks seventh and is the cheapest full suite on this list, with paid plans from US$29 to US$99 a month and a one-time 7-day trial. The entry plan includes 1 project, 150 reports a day, 125 tracked keywords per project with weekly updates, a weekly site audit of 1,000 pages, 20,000 keyword suggestions a month, 2,000 backlink rows and competitive analysis for 5 competitors. AI Search Visibility tracks 10 prompts per brand monthly across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overview. Higher tiers raise limits to 7 or 15 projects, 5,000 or 10,000 audited pages and biweekly or weekly AI updates. Add-ons such as extra users, projects and tracked keywords cost $5 a month each, and a 20-hour SEO course with email support is included. The limits are real: there is no API, and the data volumes suit one site rather than a consultant's client roster.

    Strengths

    • +Lowest paid entry price among the suites here
    • +Step-by-step SEO training course and email support included
    • +Option to cancel or downgrade to a free account at any time

    Price

Starter $99 per month for 1 project and 1 seat; Growth $199, Pro $399 and Agency from $999 per month

Quoted from the Search Atlas pricing page on November 5, 2026: Starter Run Search Atlas on one brand. $ 99 /mo billed monthly

Search Atlas ranks eighth and takes a different approach from the research-first suites above. Its OTTO SEO agent applies technical fixes, on-page improvements and content to connected sites, so the tool acts on issues rather than only listing them. Starter, at $99 a month, covers one project and one seat with 2,000 tracked keywords, 50,000 site audit pages, Content Genius, the AI content suite, publishing to any CMS and AI visibility for one provider. Growth, at $199, adds 3 seats, a second project and AI visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode. Pro, at $399, adds white-label dashboards for consultants serving clients. Usage runs on Universal Credits shared between AI articles, content edits and rank refreshes, with top-ups at $1 per 1,000 credits. That flexibility also makes spend harder to forecast, and handing site changes to an agent needs review rules in place.

    Strengths

    • +Applies changes to sites instead of only listing issues
    • +7-day trial with free one-on-one onboarding
    • +Credit-based plans let you shift usage between content and rank checks

    Drawbacks

    • −Starter covers 1 project and 1 seat
    • −Universal Credits make monthly costs harder to predict

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Screaming Frog SEO Spider pricing page.

Screaming Frog SEO Spider ranks ninth because it is a specialist crawler, not a full suite, but it earns its place as the technical audit tool many SEOs pair with a research platform. The free version crawls up to 500 URLs and already finds broken links, redirects, page title and meta data issues, hreflang problems and duplicate pages, and it generates XML sitemaps. A paid licence removes the URL limit and unlocks scheduling, JavaScript rendering, crawl comparison, near-duplicate detection, structured data validation, spelling checks, custom extraction, accessibility auditing, and integrations with Google Analytics, Search Console and PageSpeed Insights. It can also send crawled content to OpenAI and Gemini. Licences are per user and last one year, with discounts from 5 licences. It runs on your own computer, so very large crawls depend on memory and storage. Prices were shown only in euros from our location.

    Strengths

    • +Free version crawls up to 500 URLs
    • +Paid licence removes the crawl limit, subject to memory and storage
    • +Bulk discounts from 5 licences

    Drawbacks

    • −Technical crawling only, with no keyword or backlink database

Conductor ranks tenth on our weights because it does not publish prices and is built for larger organizations, but it is a serious option for enterprise in-house teams. The platform combines Conductor Creator for AI content generation, Conductor Intelligence for visibility in traditional and AI search, Conductor Monitoring for website health and AgentStack for LLMs, apps and agents. The Essentials plan, aimed at smaller teams, lists 60 Writing Assistant drafts a year, 1,000 pages analyzed, 500 tracked keywords, 5 tracked competitors and monitoring of 100,000 pages across 3 websites. Growth raises limits to 5,000 tracked keywords and 500,000 monitored pages with 24/7 monitoring and adds AI search credits, while Enterprise adds advanced reporting and governance at higher limits. Conductor prices by usage rather than seats, which suits large teams with many contributors. Expect a sales process before you see a price.

What to check before you buy

Decide which jobs the suite must cover

List the weekly tasks first: keyword research, competitor gap analysis, backlink research, technical audits, rank tracking, content briefs and reporting. Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking, Moz Pro and Serpstat cover all of these in one login. Mangools and Ubersuggest cover the core set with lower limits. Screaming Frog only crawls sites, so it works as a companion to a suite rather than a replacement.

Price the plan at your real limits

Entry prices hide tight caps. Compare tracked keywords, projects and audit pages at the tier you would actually buy. Semrush SEO tracks 500 keywords daily across 5 websites, Ahrefs Lite tracks 750 keywords with weekly updates, Moz Standard tracks 300 keywords across 3 sites, and Serpstat Individual includes 10,000 position checks a month across 5 projects.

Count the seats you need

Most suites include one user and charge for more. Ahrefs adds users at $40 to $80 a month each depending on plan, Semrush lists additional users from $45 a month, and Mangools Basic has no extra seats. Serpstat Team includes 3 users and Moz Medium includes 2, which can make them cheaper for small teams.

Check AI search visibility tracking

Most suites now track how a brand appears in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI answers, but quotas vary widely. Semrush Starter tracks 50 prompts daily, Moz Standard tracks 150 prompts weekly, Ahrefs Lite includes 150 AI prompt checks, and SE Ranking Core tracks 25 prompts daily across 5 AI engines. Match the quota to the number of topics you report on.

Consultants: look at white label and client access

If you report to clients, check branded reporting. Semrush sells a Pro Report add-on with white labeling for $20 a month, SE Ranking sells an Agency Pack with client seats, Search Atlas includes white-label dashboards on Pro, and Serpstat includes White Label Reports on Agency.

Common questions

What is the best all-in-one SEO tool?
Semrush ranks first on our scores because its SEO plan includes keyword research, competitor analysis, Site Audit, daily position tracking and AI visibility reports from $139 a month. Ahrefs is a close second and is the stronger choice for backlink and competitor research.
Semrush or Ahrefs?
Semrush tracks rankings daily on every paid plan and covers local, content and advertising toolkits. Ahrefs has unlimited verified projects, its own web index and a Standard plan aimed at consultants, but Rank Tracker updates weekly. In-house teams usually lean toward Semrush, while link-focused consultants often prefer Ahrefs.
What is the cheapest SEO suite?
Ubersuggest starts at US$29 a month and Ahrefs Starter at $29 a month for research only. Moz has a $49 entry plan for one site, and Serpstat Individual costs $50 a month billed annually. Semrush, Ahrefs and Ubersuggest also offer free accounts.
Do I still need Screaming Frog if I have a suite?
