9 Best AI Agent Builders of 2026
By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 6, 2026 · Next review December 21, 2026 · 9 products scored
Our pick in brief
Zapier Agents is the best default for most business teams: it has a free tier with 400 activities a month, a Pro plan at $33.33 per month billed annually, and agents that act across more than 9,000 connected apps. n8n is the strongest pick for technical teams, with a free self-hosted Community Edition and cloud plans priced by workflow execution. Lindy fits teams that want a ready-made assistant living in Slack and the inbox, and Gumloop fits operations teams that want unlimited agents and seats on one plan. Choose Microsoft Copilot Studio or Salesforce Agentforce if your data already lives in Microsoft 365 or Salesforce, Dify if you want an open-source app builder with a cloud option, Botpress for customer-facing support agents, and Gemini Enterprise if your company runs on Google Cloud.
Quick answer
Zapier Agents is the best AI agent builder for teams that want agents acting across thousands of business apps in 2026; n8n suits technical teams that want self-hosting and pricing per workflow execution; Zapier Agents Pro is also the cheapest verified paid plan at $33.33 per month billed annually, with Gumloop Pro next at $37 per month.
This list is for teams that want AI agents to carry out multi-step business work, such as qualifying leads, triaging tickets, preparing meetings or updating records, rather than only answering questions. We compared documented features and published prices for 9 agent builders and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor pricing page on the date we checked. n8n showed prices in euros from our location and Google does not publish a list price for Gemini Enterprise on its product page, so those two entries are marked as pending. Pricing models differ a lot in this category: some vendors charge per seat, others per credit, conversation, workflow execution or workspace, so read the price unit next to each figure. We left out OpenAI AgentKit because OpenAI says Agent Builder will no longer be available on its platform from November 30, 2026, and Relevance AI because its pricing page now lists only a custom Enterprise plan.

Free plan with 400 activities a month; Agents Pro $33.33 per month billed annually ($400 a year)
Quoted from the Zapier Agents pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Agents Pro $400 billed annually $33.33 /month
Zapier Agents ranks first because it puts agent building on top of the largest app catalog in this category and keeps the entry price low. You describe the job, Zapier Copilot helps set up a specialized agent, and the agent can pull from attached FAQs, documents and links, browse the web and take actions in more than 9,000 apps. Zapier publishes templates for common business jobs such as meeting prep dossiers, qualifying enterprise leads from form submissions and answering routine Zendesk tickets while escalating harder ones. The free tier runs 400 activities a month and Agents Pro raises that to 1,500 for $400 a year, or $33.33 per month. The trade-off is metering: every action, web search and knowledge lookup counts as an activity, so a busy agent can hit the cap. Organization-wide agent sharing, restricted apps and audit logs sit on the Enterprise plan with custom pricing.
Strengths
- +Free tier includes 400 agent activities a month
- +Pro costs $33.33 per month billed annually for 1,500 activities
- +Ready-made agent templates for meeting prep, lead qualification and Zendesk tickets
Drawbacks
- −Activities, including web browsing and knowledge lookups, count against a monthly cap
- −Agent sharing across an organization and audit logs need Agents Enterprise
- −Agents are priced separately from the main Zapier automation plans

Price
See vendor pricing (USD check pending); free self-hosted Community Edition
We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the n8n pricing page.
n8n earns second place for teams that are comfortable with a technical builder and want to own their agents. Every cloud plan includes agents, the AI Agent node, MCP support and every integration, and n8n charges per workflow execution regardless of how many steps it runs, so a long agent workflow costs the same as a short one. Starter covers 2,500 executions a month and Pro 10,000, with metric-based evaluations, admin roles and workflow history added on Pro. The Business plan is self-hosted only and adds SSO, LDAP, Git version control, multiple environments and queue mode for scaling. The free Community Edition on GitHub lets a team run n8n on its own servers at no license cost. The downsides are the learning curve, since you build agents as node graphs and often add code steps, and that the cloud pricing page showed euros from our location, so we have not confirmed a USD figure.
Strengths
- +Self-hosted Community Edition available on GitHub
- +Billing counts full workflow executions, not individual steps
- +Business plan adds Git version control, multiple environments and queue mode
Drawbacks
- −Cloud prices were shown in euros from our location, so the USD price is pending
- −The Business plan is self-hosted only
- −Building reliable agents takes more technical skill than the no-code tools here
- Free option
- Self-hosted Community Edition
- Starter plan
- 2,500 workflow executions per month, 5 concurrent executions
- Pro plan
- 10,000 workflow executions per month, up to 50 concurrent executions
- Startup discount
- 50% off Business for companies under 20 employees that qualify

$50 in free credits for 7 days; Team from $49.99 per user per month for 5,000 credits
Quoted from the Lindy pricing page on November 6, 2026:
After that, paid usage starts at $49.99 per user per month.
Lindy takes a different approach from the workflow builders on this list: instead of drawing a flow, you hire a ready-made assistant and give it work. It lives in Slack threads, manages inboxes and drafts replies in your voice, records and summarizes meetings, handles scheduling and follow-up, and runs scheduled routines such as daily briefs. More than 40 built-in skills, custom skills, 1,500+ integrations and MCP support let it reach into other tools, and you can choose the model for each task. Pricing is credit based: the Team plan starts at $49.99 per user per month for 5,000 credits, credits from all seats are pooled, and top-ups cost $10 per 1,000. Lindy says research or support triage jobs use 250 to 1,000 credits, so heavy users will need larger bundles. There is no lasting free plan, and compliance features such as HIPAA, SSO and audit logs are reserved for Enterprise.
Strengths
- +Credits from every seat go into one shared team pool
- +Approvals built in, and Lindy pauses rather than overbilling when credits run out
- +Computer use is included on the Team plan
Drawbacks
- −No permanent free plan; free credits last 7 days
- −Every active user in the workspace is billed
- −HIPAA with a signed BAA, SSO, SCIM and audit logs need Enterprise
- Free trial
- $50 in credits for 7 days, no credit card
- Team plan
- From $49.99 per user per month for 5,000 credits
- Top-ups
- $10 per 1,000 credits
- Compliance
- SOC 2 and GDPR; HIPAA with BAA on Enterprise

Pro from $37 per month with a 14-day free trial
Quoted from the Gumloop pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Pro Starts at $37 / month
Gumloop is built around the idea of a team of agents that know your business. The Pro plan starts at $37 per month and includes unlimited agents, unlimited seats and teams, shared credentials and 20,000 credits a month, which makes it one of the few tools here where adding colleagues does not raise the bill. You can pick from more than 35 models or bring your own API keys, connect company data through Company Brain, sync skills from GitHub and host one MCP server. Gumloop publishes agent templates for lead qualification, CRM updates, call analysis, SEO work, Shopify stores and support. On the cost side, Pro carries an 8% orchestration fee on top of credits, and there is no permanent free plan, only a 14-day trial. Admin controls that larger companies expect, including role-based access, SCIM and SAML, audit logs and data retention rules, are reserved for the custom Enterprise plan.
Strengths
- +Unlimited seats on Pro, so cost does not grow with headcount
- +20,000 credits per month included on Pro
- +Templates for lead generation, CRM, call analysis and support agents
Drawbacks
- −No permanent free plan
- −An 8% orchestration fee applies on Pro
- −Role-based access control, SCIM and SAML, and audit logs are Enterprise features
- Pro plan
- From $37 per month, 20,000 credits per month
- Free trial
- 14 days
- Concurrency on Pro
- 5 workflow runs and 25 agent chats
- Enterprise
- Custom pricing, optional virtual private cloud

Tenant license at $200 per pack of 25,000 Copilot Credits per month; pay-as-you-go also available
Quoted from the Microsoft Copilot Studio pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Copilot Studio is sold as tenant-wide license which includes Copilot Credit capacity packs of 25,000 Copilot Credits each, priced at $200.00 /pack/month.
Copilot Studio has the deepest feature set on this list for large organizations, which is why it scores highest on features even though it ranks fifth overall. Teams can build agents, agent flows and multi-agent systems, publish them inside Microsoft 365 or to websites and apps, design voice response agents, and connect to Power Platform connectors, Dataverse and Azure AI Search. Governance is extensive: version control, release pipelines and approval gates, Entra ID and Defender protection, Purview audit logs and budgets for credit use by user group. The cost of that power is complexity. Copilot Studio is sold as a tenant license of 25,000 Copilot Credits for $200 a month, or through pre-purchase and pay-as-you-go meters, and every agent action consumes a varying number of credits. An Azure subscription is required, and smaller teams without a Power Platform administrator will find setup slower than with the no-code tools above.
Strengths
- +Deep governance with Entra ID, Defender, Purview audit logs and environment controls
- +Budgets and usage limits for credit consumption by user group
- +Interactive voice response (IVR) agents and co-authoring
Drawbacks
- −An Azure subscription is required to use agents
- −Credit-based billing makes monthly cost harder to predict
- −Publishing to outside channels needs a standalone Copilot Studio plan
- Capacity pack
- $200 per month for 25,000 Copilot Credits
- Other options
- Pre-purchase plan with up to 20% savings, or pay-as-you-go
- Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on
- $30 per user per month paid yearly, includes the Standard harness in Copilot Studio
- Azure credit
- $200 credit with a new free Azure account

Price
Free Sandbox plan; Professional $590 per workspace per year (about $49.17 per month)
Quoted from the Dify pricing page on November 6, 2026:
$590 per workspace / year
Dify suits teams that think of agents as products to build and ship. Its visual builder covers chat apps, agents and workflows, with knowledge bases for company documents and triggers from plugins, schedules or webhooks so agents can run without a person starting them. Dify Cloud includes message credits for models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, xAI and Tongyi, and you can switch to your own API key once they run out. The free Sandbox plan is enough to try the platform, and Professional costs $590 per workspace per year, about $49.17 a month, for 3 team members, 50 apps and 5,000 message credits a month. The Team plan at $1,590 a year raises that to 50 members and 200 apps. Teams that want full control can run the open-source Community Edition with Docker or buy Dify Enterprise for private deployment. The interface assumes some familiarity with prompts, models and APIs, so it is less approachable for business users.
Strengths
- +Free Sandbox plan and a free self-deployed Community Edition
- +Workspace pricing rather than per-seat pricing
- +Switch to your own API key when message credits run out
Drawbacks
- −Professional allows only 3 team members
- −The Sandbox plan is limited to 5 apps and 200 message credits
- −Aimed at builders of AI apps more than business users
- Free plan
- Sandbox: 1 member, 5 apps, 200 message credits
- Professional
- $590 per workspace per year, 3 members, 50 apps, 5,000 message credits per month
- Team
- $1,590 per workspace per year, 50 members, 200 apps

Free plan with 100 conversations; Plus $150 per month billed annually for 250 conversations
Quoted from the Botpress pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Plus $150/mo billed annually 250 conversations/mo included
Botpress is the specialist on this list for agents that talk to customers. You build agents in Botpress Studio, give them knowledge bases and tables, deploy them to webchat, WhatsApp or Slack, and hand conversations to people through integrations with Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot and Salesforce or through Botpress Desk. Pricing is tied to conversations rather than seats. The free plan includes 100 conversations, 3 seats and 3 agents, while Plus costs $150 per month billed annually for 250 conversations, unlimited agents, whitelabel webchat and a branded help center, with extra conversations at $65 per 100. Each conversation includes $0.10 of AI usage covered by Botpress. Team at $750 a month adds unlimited seats, routing, role-based access and real-time collaboration in the Studio. For internal multi-step work, such as updating records or preparing reports, the general agent builders above are a better match.
Strengths
- +Free plan with 3 seats, 3 agents and 100 conversations
- +Each conversation includes $0.10 of AI usage covered by Botpress
- +Whitelabel webchat on Plus
Drawbacks
- −Priced per conversation, so cost rises with customer volume
- −Plus is limited to 3 seats; unlimited seats start on Team at $750 per month billed annually
- −Focused on customer conversations rather than internal back-office tasks
- Free plan
- 100 conversations, 3 seats, 3 AI agents
- Plus
- $150 per month billed annually, 250 conversations, $25 AI usage included
- Extra conversations
- $65 per 100 on Plus, $50 per 100 on Team
- Team
- $750 per month billed annually, 1,500 conversations, unlimited seats

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Google Gemini Enterprise pricing page.
Gemini Enterprise combines enterprise search with agents that act on company data. Its main strength is grounding: answers draw on Google and third-party data sources, Google Search and the web, while permission-aware search keeps users from seeing documents they cannot already open. Teams can use prebuilt tasks and agent actions, create and upload custom skills, and build and publish their own agents with no-code tools that Google still marks as preview. Google sells five editions: Business for 1 to 500 users, Standard and Plus from 1 user, Pay-as-you-go, and Frontline for organizations with 150 or more Standard or Plus users. Google says delegating multi-step background tasks is in early access, which matters for the angle of this list. We could not verify a USD price because the product page directs buyers to sales or to a 30-day free trial of the Plus edition, so the value score is conservative.
Strengths
- +Plus edition can be tried at no cost for 30 days without sales help
- +Answers respect existing user permissions across connected sources
- +Business edition starts at a single seat and covers up to 500 users
Drawbacks
- −No list price on the product page; we could not verify a USD price
- −The no-code agent builder is labeled preview
- −Some capabilities, such as delegating multi-step background tasks, are in early access
- Editions
- Business, Standard, Plus, Pay-as-you-go, Frontline

Free start through Salesforce Foundations; Flex Credits $500 per 100,000 credits; add-ons from $125 per user per month
Quoted from the Salesforce Agentforce pricing page on November 6, 2026:
$ 500 USD/Per 100k Credits
Agentforce is the natural agent builder for companies that run on Salesforce. Agents built with Agentforce Builder, Prompt Builder and Agent Script act directly on CRM records, cases and flows under the security, governance and access policies you already set, and they can serve customers, employees or callers through Agentforce Voice. Salesforce lets you start for free through Salesforce Foundations, then offers several ways to pay: Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits drawn down per action, $2 per customer conversation, an Agentforce User License at $5 per user per month that also needs Flex Credits, and add-ons from $125 per user per month for unmetered employee use. Salesforce shows worked examples, such as a service case flow costing about $1,800 a month for 100 users. The breadth is impressive, but the mix of meters makes budgeting harder, and the platform gives little reason to choose it if your customer data lives outside Salesforce.
Strengths
- +Agents act on Salesforce records under existing security and access policies
- +Three buying models: pre-purchase, pre-commit and pay-as-you-go
- +Unmetered employee usage with add-ons from $125 per user per month
Drawbacks
- −Most value depends on already running Salesforce
- −Several pricing models make total cost hard to estimate
- −Most plans route through a sales representative
- Flex Credits
- $500 per 100,000 credits
- Conversations
- $2 per conversation
- Agentforce add-ons
- $125 per user per month for Sales, Service and Field Service
- Agentforce User License
- $5 per user per month, requires Flex Credits
What to check before you buy
Start from the systems your agents must act in
An agent is only as useful as the apps it can read and write. Zapier Agents connects to more than 9,000 apps, Lindy lists 1,500+ integrations and MCP support, and n8n includes every integration on every plan. Copilot Studio and Agentforce are strongest when the work happens inside Microsoft 365 or Salesforce records.
Learn the unit the vendor bills in
Zapier counts agent activities, Lindy and Gumloop sell credits, n8n charges per workflow execution regardless of steps, Botpress charges per conversation, Dify bills per workspace, Microsoft sells packs of 25,000 Copilot Credits and Salesforce sells Flex Credits per action. Estimate a month of real usage before comparing headline prices.
Decide whether you need self-hosting
n8n offers a self-hosted Community Edition on GitHub and keeps its Business plan self-hosted only, and Dify has an open-source Community Edition you can deploy with Docker. The other tools on this list are hosted services, which is simpler to run but keeps your data with the vendor.
Plan for approvals, testing and audit logs
Agents that change records need guardrails. Lindy has approvals built in, n8n and Copilot Studio include evaluation tools, and audit logs appear on Zapier Agents Enterprise, Gumloop Enterprise and Lindy Enterprise. Check which plan unlocks SSO and role-based access before a wide rollout.
Separate internal agents from customer-facing ones
Botpress is built for agents that talk to customers on webchat, WhatsApp and Slack, with a public help center. Copilot Studio needs a standalone Copilot Studio plan to publish agents to outside channels such as websites. Most other tools here focus on internal work for employees.
Common questions
- What is the best AI agent builder in 2026?
- Zapier Agents ranks first on our list because it combines a free tier, a Pro plan at $33.33 per month billed annually and agents that act across more than 9,000 apps. n8n and Lindy follow, for technical teams that want self-hosting and for teams that want a ready-made assistant in Slack and email.
- Which AI agent builder has a free plan?
- Zapier Agents includes 400 activities a month for free, Botpress gives 100 conversations a month, and Dify's Sandbox plan includes 200 message credits. n8n and Dify also offer self-hosted community editions, and Salesforce lets customers start Agentforce for free through Salesforce Foundations.
- Can I self-host an AI agent builder?
- Yes. n8n publishes a self-hosted Community Edition on GitHub and keeps its Business plan self-hosted only, and Dify offers an open-source Community Edition you deploy with Docker. Dify Enterprise and n8n Enterprise add private deployment with support.
- How do AI agent builders charge?
- Pricing units vary. Zapier counts agent activities, Lindy and Gumloop sell credits, n8n charges per workflow execution, Botpress charges per conversation, Dify bills per workspace, Microsoft sells 25,000 Copilot Credits for $200 a month and Salesforce sells Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000.
- Is OpenAI AgentKit still available?
- OpenAI says it is winding down Agent Builder and Evals, and that from November 30, 2026 they will no longer be available on its platform. OpenAI recommends the Agents SDK for agents built in code and Workspace Agents in ChatGPT for prompt-based use cases, so we did not include AgentKit in this list.
