By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 6, 2026 · Next review December 21, 2026 · 10 products scored
Our pick in brief
Microsoft OneDrive for Business is the best value for most companies, since 1 TB per user, SharePoint and Teams come in a $7.00 Business Basic seat. Dropbox is the easiest to roll out and the best for sharing large files with clients, Google Drive is the right pick for teams that work in Docs and Sheets, and Box has the deepest compliance and external collaboration features. Sync.com and Proton Drive are the low cost encrypted options, Egnyte and Tresorit serve firms with governance or data residency rules, pCloud Business is a simple shared drive for small teams, and ShareFile is built for firms that exchange documents with clients.
Quick answer
Microsoft OneDrive for Business is the best cloud storage for businesses that already use Microsoft 365 in 2026, with 1 TB per user from $7.00 per user per month paid yearly on Business Basic. Dropbox suits teams that send large files to clients, and Google Drive suits teams that edit in Docs and Sheets. Sync.com is the cheapest verified option at $6 per user per month billed annually, with a 3 user minimum.
This list is for businesses choosing a shared place to store and share files, with admin controls over users, permissions and external sharing. We compared documented features and published prices for 10 business cloud storage services and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid business plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor's pricing page on the date we checked; where a page showed us another currency, the price is marked as pending. Some vendors pool storage across the team and others set it per user, and several require 3 or more seats, so price the plan on your own headcount.

Microsoft 365 Business Basic from $7.00 per user per month paid yearly, with 1 TB of OneDrive storage per user
Quoted from the Microsoft OneDrive for Business pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Microsoft 365 Business Basic Lightweight web and mobile apps to kickstart your business $7.00 user/month, paid yearly
OneDrive for Business ranks first because it gives the most storage and admin control per dollar for companies that already run on Microsoft. Business Basic costs $7.00 per user per month paid yearly and includes 1 TB of cloud storage per user, SharePoint team sites for shared department files, Teams for chat and meetings, custom business email and web and mobile versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Admins manage identity and access for up to 300 users from one console, and Business Premium adds advanced security for teams that need device and data protection. Co-editing Office files is where it feels most natural, since the files live next to the apps. The trade-offs are structure and scale: business plans stop at 300 users, Business Basic has no desktop Office apps, and new admins have to learn where OneDrive settings end and SharePoint settings begin. Teams outside the Microsoft ecosystem will get more from a standalone tool.
Strengths
- +Lowest cost per user among the major suites at $7.00 a month paid yearly
- +Storage, email, Teams and web Office apps in one bill
- +One month free trial on business plans
Drawbacks
- −Business plans cap at 300 users
- −Business Basic only includes web and mobile Office apps
- −Sharing settings are split between OneDrive, SharePoint and the admin center
- Starting price
- $7.00 per user per month, paid yearly
- Storage

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Dropbox pricing page.
Dropbox remains the easiest business storage to roll out, and its plans now cover most of what a team needs to share work with clients. Standard starts at 3 TB for the whole team and works for a single user, with team folders, groups and roles, password protected shares, branded file links, PDF editing and signatures, plus transfers of files up to 100 GB. Deleted files can be restored for 180 days. Advanced raises pooled storage to 15 TB, keeps a year of history and adds the controls larger companies ask for: tiered admin management, end-to-end encryption, advanced key management, compliance tracking and single sign-on. Enterprise lifts transfers to 250 GB and adds integrations with security tools and dedicated support. The weak spot for admins is that SSO and tiered roles sit on Advanced, which needs 3 or more people. We could not confirm a USD price from our location, so check the vendor page.
Strengths
- +Standard works for a team of 1 person or more
- +Password protected and branded file shares
- +PDF editing and signatures included
Drawbacks
- −SSO and tiered admins require Advanced
- −Advanced needs at least 3 people
- −Storage is pooled per team, not per user
- Storage
- Starts at 3 TB per team (Standard), 15 TB (Advanced)
- File transfers
- Up to 100 GB, 250 GB on Enterprise
- Version history
- 180 days (Standard), 1 year (Advanced)
- Encryption
- 256-bit AES and SSL/TLS

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Google Drive pricing page.
Google Drive is the natural choice for companies that already write in Docs and Sheets, since files are edited in place by many people at once instead of being downloaded and re-uploaded. Storage is pooled across the organization, so a plan with 2 TB per user on Business Standard or 5 TB on Business Plus is shared by the whole team, and light users leave room for heavy ones. Every plan includes custom business email, and Gemini is available in Gmail on Starter and across Docs, Meet and more from Standard. Business Plus adds eDiscovery for legal and compliance holds, and Enterprise adds S/MIME encryption. The entry plan is the catch for file heavy teams: Business Starter includes only 30 GB per user, so most companies storing real archives will need Standard. Google also showed us local currency prices, so we could not confirm a USD figure and list pricing as pending.
Strengths
- +Storage pools across users, so light users free space for heavy ones
- +Browser-first editing with no files to send back and forth
- +14 day free trial
Drawbacks
- −Business Starter includes only 30 GB per user
- −eDiscovery requires Business Plus
- −Introductory discounts apply to new customers and the first 20 users only
- Storage
- 30 GB (Starter), 2 TB (Standard), 5 TB (Plus) pooled per user
- Free trial
- 14 days
- AI
- Gemini in Gmail on Starter, more apps from Standard
- Compliance
- eDiscovery from Business Plus

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Box pricing page.
Box is the most complete content platform here for companies with heavy compliance and admin needs. Every business plan includes unlimited storage, integrated Box AI, unlimited e-sign requests, over 1,500 integrations and SOC 1/2/3 compliance support. Business allows 5GB uploads and charges for each external collaborator, Business Plus adds unlimited external collaborators, 15GB uploads and advanced admin controls, and Enterprise brings 50GB uploads, Box Hubs content portals, advanced workflows and security, plus FedRAMP Moderate and HIPAA support. Enterprise Plus adds threat detection and 24 hour support. That range makes Box a strong pick for regulated industries and for companies that share heavily with partners. It is less friendly for very small teams: plans need at least 3 users, the cheapest tier limits external sharing, and many admin features only appear on Business Plus. Box showed us euro prices, so its USD pricing is pending.
Strengths
- +No storage cap on any business plan
- +Widest compliance coverage on this list, including FedRAMP Moderate support
- +Annual billing saves 25% versus monthly
Drawbacks
- −Minimum of 3 users
- −Business caps uploads at 5GB and charges per external collaborator
- −Advanced admin controls start on Business Plus
- Storage
- Unlimited on business plans
- Upload limit
- 5GB (Business), 15GB (Business Plus), 50GB (Enterprise)

Teams 1TB from $6 per user per month billed annually ($4.50 with a first year discount), 3 user minimum
Quoted from the Sync.com pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Teams 1TB For your small business or team $8 $6 $6 $4.50 per user, per month
Sync.com is the value pick for small teams that care about privacy. Its Teams 1TB plan costs $6 per user per month billed annually, or $4.50 during a first year discount, and includes 1 TB of end-to-end encrypted storage per user, advanced sharing, an administrator account and unlimited data transfer. Teams 2TB adds role-based access control, admin delegation and custom branding, and Teams 10TB adds VIP support. End-to-end encryption means only your team holds the keys to file contents, which suits law, accounting and healthcare offices. Sync also lets you restore previous versions and deleted files for 180 days on the entry plan and 365 days above it. The limits are scope and ecosystem: plans need 3 users, the entry tier has no role-based access, and there is far less office editing and third party integration than Microsoft, Google or Dropbox offer. Enterprise plans start at 100 users.
Strengths
- +Cheapest verified paid plan on this list
- +Encryption that keeps file contents private from the provider
- +30 day free trial and 30 day money back guarantee
Drawbacks
- −Minimum of 3 users on Teams plans
- −Role-based access needs Teams 2TB
- −Fewer integrations and office editing tools than the big suites
- Starting price
- $6 per user per month billed annually
- Storage
- 1 TB, 2 TB or 10 TB per user

Drive Professional from $7.99 per user per month, billed $95.88 every 12 months
Quoted from the Proton Drive pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Drive Professional 1 TB $7.99 /user per month
Proton Drive brings the encryption approach of Proton Mail to business file storage. Drive Professional costs $7.99 per user per month billed yearly and includes 1 TB per user, end-to-end encryption that covers metadata, sharing by link or email with access control, and 365 days of version history. Admins get a business admin panel, can delegate admin permissions, enforce two-factor authentication, sign in as a user and protect data with an organization key. Proton Docs and Sheets let teams edit documents in real time without giving up encryption, and a command line tool handles scripted backups. Workspace Standard at $12.99 adds encrypted mail, calendars, video meetings, a VPN and a password manager with shared vaults. The limits are reach and integrations: there are fewer connectors to other business apps than in Box or Dropbox, and the strongest collaboration features depend on moving more of your work into Proton.
Strengths
- +Encrypts file metadata as well as contents
- +365 days of file version history on the entry plan
- +14 day free trial and 30 day money back guarantee
Drawbacks
- −Drive Professional starts with 2 users
- −Mail, calendar and VPN need a Workspace plan
- −Smaller integration catalog than mainstream suites

- Storage
- 1 TB per user

Business from $22 per user per month paid annually; Enterprise Lite $39, Elite $48
Quoted from the Egnyte pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Start Free Trial $22 / User / Month Paid annually*
Egnyte is built for companies where who can see a file matters as much as where it is stored. The Business plan at $22 per user per month paid annually includes discretionary permissions with flexible inheritance, email-validated sharing, versioning with global file locking, Microsoft 365 co-editing and Google Workspace integration. Enterprise Lite at $39 adds ransomware detection, suspicious login detection, content lifecycle management and advanced workflows. Elite at $48 brings AI Assistant, AI Search, AI workflows, PDF markup, e-signature and dynamic watermarking, and Ultimate adds sensitive data classification and DLP integrations. Add-ons cover construction and large BIM files. The trade-off is cost and complexity: it is the most expensive starting price on this list, and the security features many buyers want sit two tiers up. For firms with project files and compliance needs it does more than general storage tools.
Strengths
- +Deepest permission and governance controls on this list
- +AI included in every plan
- +Industry add-ons such as a Procore and Autodesk project hub
Drawbacks
- −Highest entry price on this list at $22 per user

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the pCloud Business pricing page.
pCloud Business keeps team storage simple. The base plan covers 3 users with 3 TB of storage, and admins can assign custom quotas from the shared pool, group employees into teams, set access levels on shared folders and view activity logs per user and team. Files can be restored for up to 180 days, uploads have no file size limit, and the pCloud drive app lets staff work on files without using local disk space. Client-side encryption is available for files that need extra privacy, and pDocs adds six online editors for real-time collaboration. Shared links can carry your logo, cover image and message. pCloud is GDPR compliant and ISO 27001 certified and offers a 30 day free trial. It lacks the deeper governance, SSO and compliance options of Box or Egnyte, and the page we fetched showed euro prices, so its USD price is pending.

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Tresorit pricing page.
Tresorit pairs end-to-end encryption with the admin and identity features that many encrypted tools leave out. The Business plan starts at 3 users and 6 TB of encrypted storage, or 2 TB per user, with a 15GB maximum file size, encrypted file sharing and requests, Office editing, data residency options, custom admin policies, single sign-on, domain verification and file locking for edits. Business Pro needs at least 5 users and adds 15 TB of storage, dynamic watermarks, link tracking and document analytics, auto-deletion policies, Azure AD and Okta provisioning, Active Directory support and a Microsoft Sentinel connector. Every plan includes 16 free eSignatures and trial data rooms for sharing with clients. Tresorit says more than 11,000 organizations use it. The cost of this depth is a slower setup than Sync.com or pCloud and a higher minimum seat count for Business Pro, and its pricing page did not show us USD prices.
Strengths
- +Choice of data residency for compliance
- +SSO included from the Business plan
- +14 day free trial with no limits
Drawbacks
- −Business plan needs at least 3 users, Business Pro 5

What to check before you buy
Decide between pooled and per user storage
Google Workspace and Dropbox pool storage across the team, so heavy users borrow space from light ones. Microsoft, Sync.com and Proton set a fixed amount per user, such as 1 TB. Box includes unlimited storage on business plans. Estimate your total archive size before comparing plans.
Check where admin controls start
The cheapest plan often lacks the controls IT teams want. Dropbox keeps SSO and tiered admins for Advanced, Box adds advanced admin controls on Business Plus, Sync.com adds role-based access on Teams 2TB and Egnyte adds ransomware detection on Enterprise Lite. Price the tier that includes the controls you need.
Plan for external sharing
If you share with clients, look at how outside users are handled. Box Business charges per external collaborator while Business Plus allows unlimited ones, Sync.com does not count clients as users, and ShareFile adds a client portal and document requests on Premium.
Weigh encryption against convenience
Sync.com, Proton Drive and Tresorit offer end-to-end encryption so the provider cannot read file contents. The trade-off is fewer integrations and less in-browser editing than Microsoft, Google or Dropbox. Regulated firms often accept that trade.
Count seat minimums
Box, Sync.com, ShareFile, pCloud Business and Tresorit Business require at least 3 users, Tresorit Business Pro requires 5 and Proton Drive Professional starts with 2. Dropbox Standard works for a single user.
