9 Best ERP for Manufacturing of 2026

By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 6, 2026 · Next review December 21, 2026 · 9 products scored

Our pickMicrosoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralSmall and midsize discrete manufacturers that want full financials and production planning in one system with a published price.8.5

Our pick in brief

Business Central is the safest pick for most small and midsize manufacturers: the Premium plan adds production BOMs, routings, work and machine centers, production orders, subcontracting and costing to full financials, at a published per-user price. Odoo is the best suite for teams that want MRP, a tablet shop floor app, quality checks, maintenance and PLM from one vendor. MRPeasy is the easiest way for a small factory to move off spreadsheets, and Acumatica fits growing manufacturers that want finite scheduling and a product configurator without paying per user. Cetec ERP is a full-suite option for electronics and job shops at a flat per-user rate, ERPNext is the open-source choice for teams with technical help, NetSuite suits manufacturers that already run or plan to run the rest of the business on it, Global Shop Solutions is built for job shops that live by the schedule, and Fishbowl suits QuickBooks users that assemble and build to order.

Quick answer

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the best ERP for small and midsize manufacturers in 2026, with production orders, routings and costing in the Premium plan at $110 per user a month billed yearly; Odoo suits manufacturers that want MRP, shop floor, quality and PLM apps in one suite. ERPNext is the cheapest option: the software is free and open source, and managed hosting on Frappe Cloud starts at $5 a month.

This list is for manufacturers replacing spreadsheets, an entry-level accounting tool or an aging on-premise system with an ERP that plans production and shows what each order really cost. We compared documented features and published prices for 9 ERP products and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest plan that includes manufacturing, in US dollars, as shown on the vendor's pricing page on the date we checked. NetSuite, Global Shop Solutions and Odoo did not show a USD price to us, so their entries are marked as pending and their value scores are more conservative.

    Price

Premium, which adds manufacturing, costs $110 per user per month billed yearly; Essentials is $80

Quoted from the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central pricing page on November 6, 2026: plus enhanced capabilities for service management and manufacturing. $110.00 user/month, paid yearly

Business Central ranks first because it pairs a complete manufacturing module with full accounting at a price you can see before you call anyone. On the Premium plan you define production BOMs for components, routings for operations, and work and machine centers that model both capacity and cost. Production orders then carry the job from planned demand through material consumption, operation time and output, and Microsoft's documentation ties manufacturing into supply planning, inventory, warehouse management, costing, subcontracting and quality management. Consumption and output can be posted in production journals or automated with flushing methods, which keeps data entry on the shop floor light. Planners can view the load on work and machine centers, and a Power BI app reports manufacturing KPIs. The drawbacks are that manufacturing is locked to Premium at $110 per user a month, sales go through partners, and shops that need finite scheduling at the minute level usually add a third-party app.

    Strengths

    • +Published per-user prices, with $8 Team Members licenses for light users
    • +Manufacturing connects to finance, costing and warehouse in one database
    • +Large partner network and app marketplace for industry add-ons

    Drawbacks

    • −Manufacturing needs the Premium plan, not Essentials
    • −Purchased and implemented through a partner
    • −Advanced scheduling usually needs a partner app

    Price

From $49 per user per month on Starter; Professional $69, Enterprise $99

Quoted from the MRPeasy pricing page on November 6, 2026: Starter $49 /user/month

MRPeasy is the easiest step up from spreadsheets for a small factory, and its pricing is among the clearest in this category. Even the $49 Starter plan includes production planning and reporting, BOM management, drag and drop rescheduling, lot traceability, kiosk-based shop floor reporting, supply chain and warehouse management, workforce planning, CRM and standard accounting. Professional at $69 adds a product configurator, co-product and disassembly BOMs, parallel and overlapping operations, quality control, serial numbers and subcontracting. User pricing becomes cheap at scale: after the 10th user, each additional 10 users cost $79 a month in total. Integrations cover QuickBooks Online, Xero, Shopify, WooCommerce, ShipStation and Power BI, so teams can keep an existing accounting tool. The limits are depth in finance and scheduling: larger plants with several legal entities or complex finite scheduling will outgrow it, and the features most manufacturers want for costing control sit on Professional and above.

    Strengths

    • +Transparent per-user prices with 10-user bundles for $79 a month after the 10th user
    • +Full feature set in a free trial with no credit card
    • +Integrates with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Shopify and Power BI

    Drawbacks

    • −Product configurator and quality control need Professional or higher
    • −Standard accounting is basic for multi-entity finance teams
    • −Less suited to large plants with complex scheduling

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Odoo pricing page.

Odoo earns second place by giving a manufacturer more of the factory in one suite than any other product here. The Manufacturing app handles multi-level BOMs, kits and by-products, work orders with optional routing, and an MRP scheduler that loads each work center according to its OEE and capacity, with a Gantt view for finite capacity planning and a master production schedule for S&OP meetings. The Shop Floor app puts a tablet dashboard at each work center, and Light User licenses can run it. Costing is clear: each manufacturing order is costed from average component purchase costs plus work center and employee hourly rates, and Odoo shows expected cost from the BoM next to real cost. Quality checks, preventive and corrective maintenance, and PLM with engineering change orders are separate apps, so the free one-app plan rarely covers a real plant. Prices were shown to us in euros, so the USD check is pending.

    Strengths

    • +Covers MRP, MES, quality, maintenance and PLM in one suite
    • +Compares expected cost from the BoM with real cost on each order
    • +First app free with unlimited users on Odoo Online

    Drawbacks

    • −Quality, Maintenance and PLM are extra apps that move you to a paid plan
    • −Prices were shown to us in EUR only

APEX for Manufacturing packages start under $2,185 a month, with support and implementation included

Quoted from the Acumatica Manufacturing Edition pricing page on November 6, 2026: with support and implementation services built into a starting price under USD 2,185 monthly

Acumatica Manufacturing Edition has the deepest planning toolkit among the midsize products here. MRP produces time-phased recommendations for what to buy and make, and advanced planning and scheduling can mix finite and infinite capacity within a single production order, scheduling forward or backward and feeding capable-to-promise dates at order entry. Production orders connect BOMs, routings, materials, capacity, labor, inventory and costs, and teams monitor work in process alongside estimated and actual costs and variances. On the floor, a Shop Floor Kiosk and a mobile data collection app let operators issue materials and capture lot and serial attributes. A rules-based configurator and an estimating app link quotes to sales orders, and engineering change control has configurable approvals. The pricing model charges for applications and resources rather than seats, which suits plants with many occasional users. Quality control comes from marketplace partners, and the packaged APEX option starts just under $2,185 a month.

    Strengths

    • +Unlimited users; price is based on applications and resources
    • +Tracks estimated and actual costs, work in process and variances
    • +Engineering change control with configurable approvals

    Drawbacks

    • −Quality control relies on marketplace partners
    • −APEX package starts above $2,000 a month
    • −Sold and implemented through partners

$50 per user per month with a 5-user minimum; optional paid support plans

Quoted from the Cetec ERP pricing page on November 6, 2026: $50 / user per month (5-user minimum)

Cetec ERP stands out for putting a full manufacturing suite behind one flat per-user price. At $50 per user a month with a five-user minimum, the subscription includes every module: quoting and job costing, MRP, inventory and traceability, shop floor control, quality and compliance, CRM and financials, with hosting and server maintenance in Cetec's cloud. Shop floor and portal users are billed at a discounted rate, which keeps costs down when many operators clock in to work orders. The vendor's industry pages focus on electronics, cable and wire harness, medical devices, machine and job shops, industrial equipment and aerospace, where lot and serial traceability matter. You can self-implement with documentation and community resources, or pay for support: the Standard plan with priority handling costs $650 a month and Enterprise $3,200. Teams new to ERP should expect a learning curve, since the screens carry a lot of detail.

    Strengths

    • +Priced by user, not by module; all features included
    • +Discounted rates for shop floor and portal users
    • +Free hosting, free trial and self-implementation resources

    Drawbacks

    • −Priority support plans add $650 or more a month
    • −Interface is dense for teams new to ERP
    • −Smaller partner network than the large vendors

    Price

Software is free and open source; Frappe Cloud hosting from $5 a month, with no per-user fees

Quoted from the ERPNext pricing page on November 6, 2026: Start small and run a single site with multiple apps on shared servers $5 onwards /mo

ERPNext is the low-cost route to a real manufacturing ERP. The software is GPL-3.0 open source and Frappe states there are no paid features behind a paywall, so the bill is hosting, which starts at $5 a month for a single site on Frappe Cloud, plus whatever help you buy. The manufacturing module covers multi-level BOMs that set the sequence of operations and estimate raw material and operation costs, work orders, job cards for each step at a workstation, production planning that pulls materials through BOMs and checks stock across warehouses, capacity planning by workstation, and subcontracting orders that handle material sent to and finished goods received from a subcontractor. Quality inspections and non-conformance reports are built in, and accounting, stock and purchasing share the same database. The cost is effort: Frappe does not implement directly, so you self-implement or hire one of its partners, and there is less packaged scheduling than in Acumatica or Odoo.

    Strengths

    • +GPL-3.0 open source with no paid features behind paywalls
    • +No per-user pricing; pay only for hosting
    • +Over 200 implementation partners

    Drawbacks

    • −Implementation and support are separate costs through partners
    • −Self-hosting needs in-house technical skills
    • −Fewer packaged scheduling tools than commercial suites

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the NetSuite pricing page.

NetSuite is a strong manufacturing option when the rest of the business already runs on it, but it scores lower on value because pricing is quote based and several manufacturing tools are separate SuiteApps. Oracle's documentation covers assembly work orders, advanced BOMs with component effective and obsolete dates, routings across work centers, outsourced manufacturing and engineering change orders. Work in process splits production into issuing materials, completing assemblies and closing the work order, where variances are reconciled, which gives finance a clean view of production cost. The Advanced Manufacturing SuiteApp adds work instructions, capacity plans with rough cut capacity planning, production scheduling, shop floor management and data collection, while the Manufacturing Scheduler SuiteApp flags overloaded or underloaded work centers and lets planners drag and drop operations. A mobile SuiteApp lets operators with little ERP knowledge report with scanners. Its pricing page was not reachable from our location, so the USD check is pending.

    Strengths

    • +Manufacturing shares one cloud database with finance, inventory and CRM
    • +Work order close reconciles production variances
    • +Mobile SuiteApp lets operators report with scanners

Global Shop Solutions is built for job shops, and its scheduling and costing tools show it. Planners can schedule forward or backward, finite or infinite, run what-if scenarios, constrain the schedule by employee skill sets, schedule tools, and drag and drop routing changes when a machine goes down. Job costing breaks every job into freight, labor, overhead, outside services, other and material, reports inventory, WIP and cost of goods sold by those same buckets, and compares absorbed overhead with actual overhead, which helps shops see which jobs make or lose money. Shop floor screens log employees on and off jobs, and the 35+ applications include estimating and quoting, a product configurator, quality control, and CAD, nesting and BOM compare interfaces. You can run it on-premise, in the cloud on AWS or as hosted SaaS. Pricing is per concurrent user with an upfront and quarterly fee and no public numbers, so the USD check is pending.

    Strengths

    • +Most applications are included with a license
    • +Analyzes absorbed overhead against actual overhead
    • +On-premise, cloud on AWS or vendor-hosted SaaS

    Drawbacks

    • −No published prices; upfront plus quarterly fees
    • −Concurrent user model needs careful sizing

Advanced Manufacturing from $675 a month, priced by users and deployment; inventory plans from $229

Quoted from the Fishbowl pricing page on November 6, 2026: Advanced Manufacturing from $675/mo

Fishbowl is the pick for manufacturers who want production control without leaving QuickBooks. The Advanced Manufacturing plan adds full BOMs with sub-assemblies and configurations, MRP and production scheduling, work orders and made-to-order builds, job, labor and landed costing, and lot and batch traceability, while the deep QuickBooks Online, Desktop and Enterprise integration keeps the books where your accountant already works. Mobile barcode scanning is part of every plan, which helps with material issues and receiving on the floor. Fishbowl publishes starting prices: inventory plans start at $229 a month billed annually with two users, and Advanced Manufacturing starts at $675 a month for teams from 2 users to 200+, with the final quote set by users and deployment. It ranks last here because it relies on QuickBooks for the general ledger and offers less planning depth than the full ERPs above, so growing plants may outgrow it.

    Strengths

    • +Keeps QuickBooks as the general ledger
    • +Published starting prices with cloud hosting included
    • +Mobile barcode scanning across plans

    Drawbacks

    • −Manufacturing features need the Advanced Manufacturing plan
    • −Not a full ERP with its own general ledger
    • −Final price depends on users and deployment
    Plans
Essentials $229, Growth $429, Scale $729, Advanced Warehouse from $595, Advanced Manufacturing from $675 a month

What to check before you buy

Know how you make things

Make-to-stock assemblers, job shops and process manufacturers need different tools. Job shops quote each order and track costs per job, which is where Global Shop Solutions and Cetec ERP focus. Repetitive and assemble-to-order manufacturers lean on MRP and production orders, the core of Business Central, MRPeasy and Odoo. If you mix batches, recipes or formulas, check that the ERP supports them; Acumatica lists recipes and formulas alongside discrete BOMs.

Check how production planning works

MRP tells you what to buy and make and when. Scheduling decides which work center runs which operation. Ask whether scheduling is finite (respects capacity) or infinite, and whether planners can drag and drop operations. Acumatica, Global Shop Solutions and Odoo document finite capacity scheduling, MRPeasy has drag and drop rescheduling on every plan, and NetSuite adds a Manufacturing Scheduler SuiteApp for overloaded and underloaded work centers.

Look closely at costing

The point of a manufacturing ERP is knowing what each order cost against what you expected. Odoo compares expected cost from the BOM with real cost on each manufacturing order, Acumatica tracks estimated and actual costs with variances, NetSuite reconciles variances when a work order is closed, and Global Shop Solutions splits job cost into freight, labor, overhead, outside services, other and material. Ask each vendor to show a closed job with its variance report.

Count users the way the vendor does

Pricing models vary widely. Business Central, MRPeasy, Cetec ERP and Odoo charge per user, Acumatica prices by applications and resources with unlimited users, Global Shop Solutions sells concurrent users, Fishbowl sells plans with users included, and ERPNext charges only for hosting. Shop floor operators often need cheaper limited licenses: Cetec ERP discounts shop floor users and Business Central sells Team Members licenses at $8 a month.

Budget for implementation

ERP subscriptions are only part of the cost. Business Central, Acumatica and ERPNext are usually implemented through partners, Acumatica's APEX for Manufacturing bundles support and implementation into one monthly price, and Cetec ERP and MRPeasy offer self-implementation with optional paid help. Plan for data migration of items, BOMs, routings, customers and vendors before go-live.

Common questions

What is the best ERP for manufacturing?
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ranks first for small and midsize manufacturers in our scoring, with production orders, routings and costing in the Premium plan at $110 per user a month billed yearly. Odoo is second for teams that want MRP, shop floor, quality and PLM in one suite, and MRPeasy is third for small factories leaving spreadsheets.
What is the difference between MRP and ERP for manufacturers?
MRP plans what materials to buy and make and when, based on BOMs, stock and demand. A manufacturing ERP adds the rest of the business around it: accounting, purchasing, sales, costing and often quality and shop floor tools, so production costs post straight to the books.
Which manufacturing ERP is cheapest?
ERPNext is free and open source; managed hosting on Frappe Cloud starts at $5 a month with no per-user fees, though implementation help costs extra. Among paid products, MRPeasy starts at $49 per user a month and Cetec ERP at $50 per user a month with a 5-user minimum.
Which ERP is best for job costing?
Global Shop Solutions splits each job into freight, labor, overhead, outside services, other and material and compares absorbed with actual overhead. Acumatica tracks estimated and actual costs with variances, and Odoo shows expected cost from the BoM next to real cost on each manufacturing order.
Do manufacturing ERPs charge per user?
Most do, but not all. Business Central, MRPeasy, Cetec ERP and Odoo charge per user, Global Shop Solutions sells concurrent users, Fishbowl sells plans with users included, Acumatica prices by applications and resources with unlimited users, and ERPNext charges only for hosting.
How did we rank these ERPs?
We compared documented features and published prices from each vendor's own site and scored features, ease of use and value from 0 to 10. The overall score weights features 35%, ease of use 35% and value 30%. Vendors without a USD price on their pricing page get more conservative value scores.
