10 Best Salon Booking Software of 2026
By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 6, 2026 · Next review December 21, 2026 · 10 products scored
Our pick in brief
GlossGenius is the best fit for most small salons: low plan prices, built-in deposits, card-on-file and no-show policies on every plan, and a booking website clients can use without downloading an app. Vagaro is the runner-up for salons that want a large consumer marketplace, SOAP notes, memberships and payroll on one account. Boulevard and Mangomint are the premium picks for busy multi-chair salons that care most about the front desk and client experience, while Booksy is the simplest flat price for barbers. Fresha suits salons that want marketplace bookings with per-member pricing, Square Appointments is the free option for solo pros, DaySmart Salon covers small teams on a budget, and Phorest and Zenoti are quote-based platforms for larger salons and chains.
Quick answer
GlossGenius is the best salon booking software for independent stylists and small salons in 2026, from $24 a month billed annually; Vagaro suits growing salons and barbershops that want a marketplace listing and every core feature in one plan. Square Appointments has a free plan, and Booksy charges $29.99 a month with all features included.
This list is for salon owners, barbershops, booth renters and independent stylists choosing one system for online booking, deposits, no-show protection, checkout and client reminders. We compared documented features and published prices for 10 salon booking platforms and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor's own page on the date we checked; where a vendor sells by quote or shows prices in another currency from our location, the price is marked as pending. Most salon software makes part of its money from card processing, so compare processing rates and per-staff fees alongside the monthly plan.

Price
Standard $24 per month billed annually or $28 monthly; Gold $48 annually or $56 monthly; Platinum $148 annually or $168 monthly
Quoted from the GlossGenius pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Standard $ 28 $ 24 / monthly Billed annually, you save 14%.
GlossGenius takes first place because its cheapest plan already covers what a stylist needs to fill a book and protect it. Standard costs $24 a month on annual billing or $28 month to month and includes a custom booking website, unlimited client notifications, email and text marketing, retail and inventory tools, packages and memberships. Deposits, card-on-file rules, cancellation and no-show policies, split payments and customizable gratuity are listed in the payments section, and clients book without logging in or downloading an app. Gold at $48 a month adds forms and waivers, Google booking and reviews, an automated waitlist, time tracking and room management, and is aimed at teams up to 9 staff. Platinum adds commissions and team goals for 10 or more staff. The limits are mostly about scale: payroll is $40 a month plus $6 a seat, the Reception AI agent is another $50, and larger multi-location groups are routed to sales.
Strengths
- +Lowest published plan price among the full-featured salon tools on this list
- +Deposits and no-show policies are not locked behind a higher tier
- +Free data transfer and no contracts
Drawbacks
- −Forms, waitlist and Google booking need the Gold plan
- −Customizable commissions and team goal tracking need the $148 Platinum plan
- −Payroll and the AI Reception agent are paid add-ons
- Entry plan
- Standard, $24 a month billed annually
- Gold plan
- For businesses up to 9 staff
- Online invoicing rate
- 2.9% + $0.30
- Payroll add-on
- $40 a month plus $6 per seat

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Vagaro pricing page.
Vagaro is the runner-up because it bundles more salon features into its base subscription than most rivals. Every plan includes online booking across Vagaro, Instagram, Facebook and Apple Maps, unlimited reminders, memberships, packages and gift certificates, loyalty programs, inventory tracking, invoices, SOAP notes, advanced reporting and a listing on the Vagaro Marketplace, plus 1,000 free marketing emails a month. The Vera AI assistant drafts marketing, writes service descriptions and helps fill empty appointment slots. Pricing scales by bookable calendar: Vagaro's own FAQ says each additional calendar license costs $10 (US), up to seven, after which more employees cost nothing extra, which suits salons with many part-time stylists. There is a 30-day free trial and free data migration, usually done in 1 to 2 business days. The tradeoff is a large product with many modules to set up, which takes longer to learn than Booksy or GlossGenius. The pricing page showed GBP from our location, so the USD starting price is marked pending.
Strengths
- +Long list of features included with every plan, including SOAP notes and inventory
- +Listing on the Vagaro Marketplace is included
- +30-day free trial and free data transfer
Drawbacks
- −Monthly price depends on the number of bookable calendars
- −Many modules and settings to learn compared with simpler apps
- −US plan prices did not display from our location, so the price check is pending

$29.99 per month plus tax with all features; $20 per month for each extra team member
Quoted from the Booksy pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Booksy costs $29.99 per month , plus $20 per month for each additional team member (+ tax).
Booksy is the easiest pricing on this list: $29.99 a month plus tax unlocks every feature, and each additional team member costs $20 a month. That covers 24/7 online booking, calendar and client management, no-show protection, waitlists, custom forms and liability waivers, Reserve with Google, online gift cards, memberships and packages, reporting, email marketing and 2,000 free SMS marketing messages a month. Clients book through the free Booksy app or your profile link, and Booksy says it never charges clients to book. Payments are integrated, with 2.49% + $0.10 on the Booksy card reader and free next-business-day payouts. The catch is Boost: if you switch on this marketplace promotion, Booksy takes a one-time 30% of a new client's first visit, capped at $100, so share your own profile link to avoid the fee on clients you bring in yourself. Payroll, commissions and deep inventory tools are thinner than at Vagaro or Mangomint.
Strengths
- +Simple flat price with no feature gating
- +Strong consumer app for client discovery
- +No commitment and a 14-day free trial without a card
Drawbacks
- −Boost marketplace clients cost a one-time 30% fee, up to $100
- −Extra team members cost $20 each a month
- −Fewer back-office tools such as payroll than Vagaro or Mangomint

- $29.99 a month plus tax

Essentials $143 per month for one location with up to 5 providers; Premier and Prestige priced per location; Enterprise by quote
Quoted from the Boulevard pricing page on November 6, 2026:
For small teams with simple operations and 1 single location $ 143 /mo for 1 location
Boulevard is built for salons where the client experience is the product. Its self-booking flow, client profiles, memberships, loyalty and messaging are aimed at higher-ticket salons, and the new AI Receptionist answers calls, books clients and captures leads around the clock. Essentials costs $143 a month for a single location with up to 5 providers, 250 free texts and 1,000 free email blasts. Premier removes the provider cap and Prestige bundles the Forms add-on and more messaging; both were on a limited-time discount when we checked. Payments run through Boulevard's own processing with the Duo reader, and the company offers volume discounts plus an Offset program where clients pay a 3% card fee and the salon pays 1%. Funds usually reach the bank in 2 business days. The downside is cost: Forms starts at $65 a month per location and QuickBooks sync adds $45, so a small salon pays several times what GlossGenius or Booksy charges.
Strengths
- +Strong client-facing booking and front desk experience
- +Dedicated onboarding specialist and Boulevard Academy training
- +HIPAA, SOC 2 and PCI Level 1 compliance
Drawbacks
- −Highest entry price on this list with a published figure
- −Forms cost from $65 a month per location on lower plans
- −Payments need the Boulevard Duo reader for in-person checkout
- Entry plan
- Essentials, $143 a month for 1 location
- Providers on Essentials
- Up to 5 bookable calendars
- QuickBooks sync
- $45 a month per location
- Annual billing

Price
$120 per location per month plus $10 per user; Phone, Marketing and Payroll add-ons extra
Quoted from the Mangomint pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Monthly price is $ 120 per location and $ 10 per user
Mangomint sells one full plan at $120 per location plus $10 per user each month, so there is no feature gating between tiers. That plan includes calendar and scheduling, online booking embedded on your own website, Express Booking, a Virtual Waiting Room for check-in, client management, web chat, memberships and packages, forms and charting, gift cards, retail and inventory, reporting and multi-location tools. Unlimited text and email confirmations and reminders are included, and Mangomint states it never takes a fee for appointments booked through it. In-person card payments cost 2.45% + 15 cents, which is low for the category. Booth renters get unique booking links and separate payment accounts. The caveats: anyone with a profile, including front desk staff, counts as a user, deposits and cards on file require Mangomint's own processing, and marketing credits start at $30 a month, so a 10-person salon with campaigns runs well above $200.
Strengths
- +One plan with the full platform, no feature tiers
- +No booking fees and no contracts
- +Free onboarding and data transfer, with a dedicated specialist for teams of 2 or more providers
Drawbacks
- −Per-user fees add up for larger teams
- −Cards on file and deposits require Mangomint's own processing
- −Marketing campaigns and phone lines cost extra
- Base price
- $120 per location plus $10 per user a month
- In-person card rate

- Phone add-on

- Payroll add-on

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the Fresha pricing page.
Fresha pairs salon software with one of the larger beauty marketplaces, and it now charges a subscription per bookable team member through Independent and Team plans, with Enterprise for businesses over 20 team members. Both plans include the calendar, waitlists, point of sale, client management, consultation forms, reviews, retail and inventory, gift cards, packages, memberships, group bookings, processing and finishing times and patch tests. Upfront payments and no-show and cancellation fees help protect bookings, and email and app notifications are free and unlimited. The Team plan adds multiple calendar columns, sales commissions, wages, pay runs and timesheets, which most rivals sell as payroll add-ons. Marketplace economics are the main thing to weigh: Fresha charges a one-time fee on brand new clients who find you through its marketplace, with no fee on returning clients. Add-ons such as AI Concierge, Client Loyalty and Insights are billed separately. The pricing page showed PLN from our location, so the USD price is pending.
Strengths
- +No fee on returning clients from the marketplace
- +Free unlimited email and app notifications
- +Large consumer marketplace for new client discovery
Drawbacks
- −One-time fee on brand new marketplace clients
- −Text and WhatsApp reminders beyond the free allowance cost extra
- −US prices did not display from our location, so the price check is pending

Free plan at $0; Plus $49 and Premium $149 per location per month
Quoted from the Square Appointments pricing page on November 6, 2026:
$0/mo. per location $49/mo. per location $149/mo. per location
Square Appointments is the easiest way to take salon bookings for free. The $0 plan includes an online booking site with integrations, appointment reminders and unlimited staff calendars, and payments run through Square with next day transfers and offline payments. Square describes appointment deposits and prepayments at booking, processing time for services such as hair color, and digital wallets in the booking flow. Plus at $49 per location a month adds cancellation policies and no-show fees, multi-staff appointment booking and a waitlist, and Premium at $149 adds tools like a future bookings report, service cost tracking and resource management for large salons. Businesses processing over $250,000 a year can ask for custom pricing. The limits are depth: Square is a general appointments product, so salon-specific tools such as booth rent handling, formula notes and salon marketing are thinner than at GlossGenius or Vagaro, and gift card loads carry a 2.5% fee below Premium.
Strengths
- +Free plan with unlimited staff calendars
- +Works with the wider Square hardware and payments ecosystem
- +Clear per-location pricing
Drawbacks
- −No-show fees and waitlists need the $49 Plus plan
- −Fewer salon-specific tools such as color formulas or booth rent
- −Gift card loads cost 2.5% on the Free and Plus plans
- Free plan
- Yes, $0 per location

Basic $29 per month for 1 user; Deluxe $69 for 3 users; Deluxe Growth $149; Premium $199 for 6 users; Premium Growth by quote
Quoted from the DaySmart Salon pricing page on November 6, 2026:
Basic $ 29 / Month Basic Plan: 1 User Online Booking Appointment Confirmations
DaySmart Salon, whose family now also includes Slick salon software, sells tiered plans by user count. Basic costs $29 a month for one user and already covers online booking, appointment confirmations and reminders, Instagram and Facebook booking, integrated payments, online deposits, a kiosk and a walk-in manager, with 500 texts and 1,000 emails a month. Deluxe at $69 adds three users, online gift cards, digital forms, a client loyalty system, basic payroll and email marketing. Deluxe Growth at $149 brings text marketing, two-way texting and reputation management, and Premium at $199 raises the limit to six users and adds QuickBooks Connect. Email, chat and phone support plus unlimited training come with every plan, and data migration is free. The weak spot is scaling: user caps push teams up the ladder quickly, and commission tracking and unlimited users sit on a quote-only Premium Growth plan.
Strengths
- +Online deposits on the $29 entry plan
- +Free data migration
- +Phone support on every plan
Drawbacks
- −Basic is limited to one user
- −Text marketing and two-way texting need the $149 plan

Phorest focuses on keeping clients coming back. Every plan includes unlimited devices and unlimited staff, online booking around the clock, an appointment calendar and waiting list, stored cards for no-show protection and online gift cards. The Grow plan adds pre-send digital consultation forms, the Phorest Reconnect win-back tool, a digital TreatCard loyalty program and an online store, while Complete Advantage adds an online reputation manager, staff goals, client referrals and an AI client cheat sheet. Elite rolls the add-ons into one plan. Free SMS allowances rise by plan, and extra messages cost 5 cents each. Phorest sets up the software for you, importing clients, staff and products. The weak spot is transparency: every plan is quote-only, and the company positions its plans for salons with 3 or more staff, so solo stylists will find cheaper published options above.
Strengths
- +Unlimited staff and devices on every plan
- +Deep retention and loyalty marketing
- +Plans for both salons and medspas
Drawbacks
- −No published prices; every plan is by quote

Zenoti is the heavyweight option for salon chains, franchises and spa groups. Its platform covers the appointment book, employee management, payroll and commissions, staff goals, inventory and room management, point of sale, payment processing, Text2Pay, memberships, gift cards and loyalty, plus online booking through its webstore, social booking and Reserve with Google. The AI Plus package adds agents such as an AI Receptionist that answers every call, an AI Lead Manager, an AI Dispute Manager for chargebacks and an AI Employee Scheduler. Every customer gets 24/7 global support and access to Zenoti University, and AI Plus customers also get a dedicated success manager. Zenoti says it serves over 30,000 businesses in more than 50 countries. For a single salon it is more system than needed: pricing is by quote, voice and SMS are billed by usage, and setup takes days to weeks, so it ranks last here despite the deepest feature set.
Strengths
- +Broadest operations coverage on this list
- +24/7 global support and Zenoti University training

What to check before you buy
Check how deposits and no-show fees work
Taking a deposit or a card on file at booking is the most direct way to cut no-shows. GlossGenius lists built-in deposits, card-on-file policies and cancellation policies on every plan. Square Appointments describes partial deposits at booking, and places cancellation policy and no-show fees on its Plus plan. Mangomint says cards on file and deposits need its own payment processing, and DaySmart Salon includes online deposits from its $29 Basic plan.
Count bookable staff before comparing prices
Pricing models differ widely. Booksy charges $29.99 a month plus $20 for each extra team member, Mangomint charges $120 per location plus $10 per user, and Vagaro's FAQ says each extra bookable calendar costs $10 (US) up to seven licenses. Boulevard Essentials covers up to 5 providers at one location, and DaySmart Salon caps users by plan, from 1 on Basic to 6 on Premium.
Compare card processing rates
Processing fees can outweigh the subscription for a busy salon. Mangomint publishes 2.45% + 15 cents for in-person payments and 2.90% + 30 cents for virtual payments, Booksy charges 2.49% + $0.10 on its card reader, and GlossGenius lists 2.9% + $0.30 for online invoicing. Boulevard offers volume discounts and an Offset program that shifts part of the card fee to clients.
Understand marketplace fees
Marketplaces can bring new clients but some charge for them. Booksy's optional Boost feature takes a one-time 30% fee on a new client's first visit, up to $100, and Fresha charges a one-time fee for brand new clients who find you through its marketplace, with no fee for returning clients. Mangomint states it never takes a fee for bookings, and Vagaro includes a marketplace listing in every plan.
Price the add-ons you will actually use
Payroll, AI receptionists and marketing credits are often billed on top. GlossGenius Payroll is $40 a month plus $6 a seat and its Reception agent is $50 a month, Mangomint Phone is $70 a month per line and Payroll is $50 a month plus $8 per worker, and Boulevard charges $45 a month per location for QuickBooks sync and from $65 for Forms.
