10 Best Gym Management Software of 2026

By the TopToolAdvisor research desk · Updated November 6, 2026 · Next review December 21, 2026 · 10 products scored

Our pickPushPressIndependent gyms and studios that want to start free and move to lower card rates as they grow.8.7

Our pick in brief

PushPress is the best starting point for most independent gyms: Core costs nothing a month, every plan has unlimited members, staff and admins, and Pro adds lower processing rates for $159 a month. Gymdesk is the simplest published price list, with every feature on every tier and pricing set only by active members. Zen Planner and TeamUp also price by active members and suit class-based gyms, Mindbody is the strongest pick when you want new clients from a consumer booking app, and Wodify fits CrossFit and functional fitness boxes that want workout tracking. Walla is built for boutique studios, ABC Glofox and ABC Ignite serve growing and multi-location clubs, and Exercise.com suits trainers and gyms that sell online programs.

Quick answer

PushPress is the best gym management software for independent gyms and studios in 2026, with a free Core plan and Pro at $159 a month; Gymdesk suits small gyms that want every feature on every plan, from $75 a month for up to 50 active members with Gymdesk Payments. PushPress Core is the cheapest option at $0 a month, paid for through a 4.99% + $0.30 card processing rate.

This list is for owners and managers of gyms, CrossFit boxes, martial arts schools and boutique studios choosing software to sell memberships, run a class schedule, check members in and bill them every month. We compared documented features and published prices for 10 gym management systems and scored each on features, ease of use and value. Prices are the cheapest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor's own pricing page on the date we checked. Several vendors price by active members or by location, and a few sell by quote only, so those prices are marked as pending. Read the payment processing terms next to the subscription fee, because many gym platforms earn part of their revenue from card fees.

Free plan with 4.99% + $0.30 card processing; Pro $159 and Max $229 per month with lower processing rates

Quoted from the PushPress pricing page on November 6, 2026: Pro $159 /mo

PushPress ranks first because it removes the monthly fee as a barrier and still covers the daily work of a gym. Core is free and includes unlimited members, staff and admins, a members app for booking classes and buying plans, a staff app with a kiosk mode for check-ins, documents for waivers, events, appointments for personal training and basic workout programming. Waitlists manage themselves, pro-rated billing lets members pick a start date, and plan purchase limits stop repeat use of free trials. The cost sits in card processing: Core charges 4.99% + $0.30 per card payment, Pro at $159 a month charges 2.89% + $0.30 and Max at $229 charges 2.75% + $0.30, with ACH at 0.79% + $0.30 on paid plans. Pro and Max also add live human support and scheduled video help calls. Lead automation, a branded app and advanced workout tracking are sold as separate products, so a full setup costs more than the headline plan.

    Strengths

    • +Core plan has no monthly fee
    • +Prices are published in USD with processing rates listed per plan
    • +No caps on members, staff or admins

Micro Gym from $75 per month with Gymdesk Payments or $100 without, up to 50 active members; Small $100, Medium $150, Large $200 with Gymdesk Payments

Quoted from the Gymdesk pricing page on November 6, 2026: Micro Gym Up to 50 active members* $100 $ 75 / month

Gymdesk has the clearest pricing on this list: you pick a tier by active members and get every feature. Micro Gym covers up to 50 active members for $75 a month with Gymdesk Payments or $100 without, Small covers 51 to 100 members for $100, Medium covers 101 to 150 for $150 and Large covers 151 to 250 for $200, all with Gymdesk Payments. Every plan includes unlimited staff accounts, a responsive gym website, memberships, booking, billing, point of sale, email and SMS automations, lead management and reporting with revenue forecasting. Frozen members, cancelled members and prospects are not counted. Gymdesk and Smoothcomp are now one company, so competitive grappling gyms can link tournament records to training. The add-ons are the main extra cost: a branded member app is $100 a month and door access starts at $100 a month for up to 3 doors. There is a 30-day trial with no credit card and no exit fee.

    Strengths

    • +Every plan includes the full platform
    • +Frozen and cancelled members and prospects do not count toward the tier
    • +No contracts, no exit fee and self-serve data export

    Drawbacks

    • −Without Gymdesk Payments the Micro tier costs $100 a month

Zen Planner Studio from $99 per month; Essentials from $198 and Ultimate from $348 per month, priced by active members

Quoted from the Zen Planner pricing page on November 6, 2026: Zen Planner Studio Starting at $99 /mo

Zen Planner was started in 2006 by a martial arts school owner and says it serves more than 5,000 fitness businesses. Zen Planner Studio starts at $99 a month and includes membership management, online scheduling, member self-service, attendance tracking, belt and skill tracking, billing, staff payroll, reporting, and staff and member mobile apps. Pricing scales with active members, defined as anyone with a membership or who attended in the past month, and prospects and staff are never charged. Essentials, from $198, adds a branded, SEO-optimized website with lead capture, and Ultimate, from $348, adds Zen Planner Engage for automated email and text campaigns and lead management. A New Business Bundle starts at $199. Every package includes a dedicated onboarding specialist and done-for-you data migration. Extras add up: the branded app and EMV card readers are $39 a month each, and payments pricing is custom. Plans run month to month.

    Strengths

Starter from $79 per month per location in North America; Accelerate and Ultimate by quote

Quoted from the Mindbody pricing page on November 6, 2026: Starting at $79 USD/month (North America and Asia)

Mindbody has the widest feature set for studios and gyms and one thing no rival matches: a listing on the Mindbody consumer app, which the company says reaches more than 3 million monthly shoppers. Starter costs $79 a month in North America and Asia and includes management tools, integrated payments, branded booking widgets, a customized website, the app listing and basic reporting, with unlimited users. Accelerate adds advanced analytics, room and resource management, Pick-a-Spot and promo codes. Ultimate adds automated email and text campaigns, a lead dashboard and AI Concierge, which answers client questions and missed calls. Only the entry price is published, so the higher plans need a sales call. When the app delivers a client new to your business, Mindbody takes 20% of the first purchase, capped at $30, and later bookings are commission-free. Mindbody Payments charges a rate plus $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction. The breadth also means more setup than lighter tools.

    Strengths

    • +Unlimited users on every plan
    • +Marketplace listing can bring new clients
    • +Website included from the entry plan

    Drawbacks

    • −Only the entry price is published

    Price

See vendor pricing (USD check pending); priced by active customers per month, no setup fee

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the TeamUp pricing page.

TeamUp is built for group fitness: yoga and Pilates studios, bootcamps, CrossFit boxes and gyms that run on a class timetable. The core subscription includes registration and booking, memberships and packs, appointments with instructor availability, courses, waivers, a customer store, point of sale, gift cards, membership joining fees and a penalty system for no-shows. Scheduling covers employee pay rates, two-way calendar sync and access control, and family accounts can share a membership. Reporting covers acquisition, engagement and revenue, with an AI Business Advisor on top. Pricing depends on active customers, meaning people who booked or bought something that month, and the plan adjusts down automatically in quiet months. There is no setup fee, no long-term contract and no limit on locations. The pricing page showed $189 a month for 101 to 200 customers when we checked, and smaller tiers are listed below that. The Marketing Suite, a custom branded app and TeamUp Perform cost extra.

    Strengths

    • +No setup fee and no long-term commitment
    • +Unlimited locations on one account
    • +Pricing falls automatically when active customers drop

    Drawbacks

    • −Marketing Suite, branded app and TeamUp Perform are paid add-ons
    • −The plan price rises in steps as active customers grow
    • −Member-facing workout tracking needs the TeamUp Perform add-on

    Price

Essentials $199 per month ($99 for gyms that book a demo by November 30, 2026); Accelerate $299 and Ultimate $499 per month

Quoted from the Wodify pricing page on November 6, 2026: $199 $99/month Essentials

Wodify grew up in CrossFit and still fits functional fitness gyms best. Essentials lists at $199 a month and covers billing, scheduling, client management, digital waivers and contracts, with a single app for clients and staff. Accelerate, at $299, adds lead management, insights dashboards, family groups with shared payments, pre-built automations and email campaigns, and an on-demand media library. Ultimate, at $499, adds Wodify Perform for workout tracking, a custom website and unlimited automations. When we checked, Wodify offered $100 off every month to gyms that book a demo by November 30, which brings Essentials to $99, Accelerate to $199 and Ultimate to $399. There are no long-term contracts. The catch is that the workout tracker most CrossFit gyms want sits on the most expensive plan, so the real comparison is Ultimate against PushPress or Zen Planner with a separate tracking app. Even at list price, Ultimate replaces a website builder and a workout app.

    Strengths

    • +Prices are published with no long-term contract
    • +Workout tracking is part of the top plan, not a separate vendor
    • +One app serves both clients and staff

    Drawbacks

    • −Entry price is higher than PushPress, Gymdesk or Zen Planner
    • −Wodify Perform needs the $499 Ultimate plan
    • −The $100 monthly discount depends on booking a demo by November 30

    Price

See vendor pricing (USD check pending); priced through an online configurator and demo

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the ABC Glofox pricing page.

Glofox now sits inside ABC Fitness as ABC Glofox and targets boutique studios and gyms from start-ups to franchises. It covers recurring memberships, open gym access, classes, personal training, appointments and credit packs in one system. Members book through a branded app and web portal, where they can also manage memberships, update payment details, sign waivers, join waitlists and buy packs. Check-in works by barcode, self check-in kiosk, staff app or access control integrations, which helps at peak hours. Billing is automated with stored payment methods and retries for failed payments, and reporting tracks revenue, attendance and retention with churn alerts. Multi-location gyms get shared policies and central reporting. The drawback is price transparency: the pricing page is a configurator that asks about your business type and locations before sending you to a demo, so we could not verify a USD price. Compare it with Mindbody on branded app terms and payment rates.

    Strengths

    • +Branded member app is core to the product
    • +Failed payment retries reduce missed membership payments
    • +Backed by ABC Fitness for gyms planning to grow into multiple sites

    Drawbacks

    • −No published prices
    • −Pricing requires a configurator and a demo
    • −Overlaps with ABC Ignite, so larger clubs may be steered to the other product

Core from $299 per month per location billed monthly; Pro by quote

Quoted from the Walla pricing page on November 6, 2026: $299 /mo per location, billed monthly

Walla is studio software for boutique fitness, and its pitch is a simpler experience than legacy platforms. Core costs $299 a month per location billed monthly and includes unlimited users, classes, appointments and enrollments, Book-a-Spot and waitlists, payroll and pay rates, gift cards, guest passes and shared plans, video on-demand courses with a Zoom integration, branded emails and newsletters, and Meta and Google lead sync with conversion tracking. Every plan carries WallaPredict, which flags clients at risk of leaving, plus advanced reporting and AI dashboards. Pro, priced by conversation, adds the full marketing suite, custom automations, a lead tracker, two-way texting and a branded studio app. Walla adds no booking or convenience fees of its own, and studios can pass card costs to clients if they choose. Term lengths vary and change the price. At $299 per location it is the most expensive published entry plan here, and it is aimed at studios rather than open-gym clubs.

    Strengths

    • +Unlimited users and human support on every plan
    • +Walla adds no booking or convenience fees for clients
    • +Video on-demand courses and a Zoom integration included

We could not confirm a US price yet. Check the ABC Ignite pricing page.

ABC Ignite is the club management platform ABC Fitness sells to health clubs, and the company describes it as serving single operators through multi-location franchises. ABC Fitness says its software supports 40 million members globally across more than 100 countries and draws on 40 years in the fitness industry, with customers named on its site including Amped Fitness, Fitness World and Jazzercise. Ignite handles club operations end to end, and the wider ABC family adds ABC Gymsales for sales pipelines, ABC Trainerize for coaching, ABC Xlerate, ABC AI Agents and a partner marketplace of certified integrations. That breadth is the reason to choose it and the reason it ranks last here: a small gym or studio will pay for and configure more system than it needs, and every price runs through a demo, so we could not verify a USD figure. For franchise groups and large clubs, ask how Ignite compares with ABC Glofox, which the same vendor sells to studios and smaller gyms.

    Strengths

    • +Built for big clubs and franchise networks
    • +Large vendor with operations in 100+ countries
    • +Wide product family for sales, coaching and member engagement

Exercise.com pitches itself as an all-in-one platform, and its feature list backs that up. Gym operations cover check-ins, booking, member and employee management, multi-location reporting, remote door access, e-sign waivers and contracts, and automations. On top sits a full workout system: a plan creator, workout logger, exercise library, rep max progressions, leaderboards, progress photos and habit tracking, delivered through your own custom-branded apps. Marketing tools include a CRM, assessments, email, push notifications and sales funnels, and the online side lets you sell workout plans, run livestreams and challenges and sell digital products. Payments cover processing, trainer commissions, invoicing, coupon codes, payment splitting and POS. Migration from other platforms is done for you. The site footer shows Exercise.com is part of Daxko, which also owns Zen Planner. Pricing is not published and needs a demo, and the depth of the platform means more setup than a class-booking tool.

    Strengths

What to check before you buy

Work out the true monthly cost, including card fees

Subscription fees are only part of the bill. PushPress Core has no monthly fee but charges 4.99% + $0.30 per card payment, while Pro at $159 drops that to 2.89% + $0.30 and Max at $229 to 2.75% + $0.30. Gymdesk takes $25 off its Micro, Small and Medium tiers when you process through Gymdesk Payments. Mindbody uses a processing rate plus $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction in North America and Asia.

Know how your vendor counts members

Gymdesk, Zen Planner and TeamUp price by active members or customers, so a quiet month costs less and a growing gym pays more. Gymdesk ignores frozen and cancelled members and prospects, Zen Planner never charges for staff or prospects, and TeamUp counts anyone who booked or bought in the previous month. Mindbody and Walla price per location instead, and PushPress lists unlimited members on every plan.

Match the software to your training style

CrossFit and functional fitness gyms usually want workout tracking: Wodify Perform comes with Wodify Ultimate, PushPress Core includes Train Lite programming, and TeamUp sells TeamUp Perform as an add-on. Martial arts schools should look for belt and rank tracking, which Zen Planner and PushPress list. Studios that live on class bookings should check spot booking, waitlists and late cancellation fees.

Decide whether you need a branded app

Most vendors give members a shared app and sell your own branded app as an extra. Zen Planner charges $39 a month for its branded app, Gymdesk charges $100 a month with the first month free, and Mindbody lists the branded app as an add-on on Accelerate and Ultimate. Walla includes a branded studio app on its Pro plan.

Check contracts and how easy it is to leave

Gymdesk, PushPress, Zen Planner and TeamUp run month to month, and Gymdesk states it charges no exit fee for cancelling or exporting your data. Walla offers several term lengths with pricing that depends on the one you choose. Ask any vendor that sells by quote, such as ABC Fitness and Exercise.com, for the contract length and data export terms in writing.

Is there free gym management software?
