CRM Statistics 2026

This page collects figures on customer relationship management (CRM) software: how many businesses use it by size, industry and country, how the market splits between vendors, how many customers the main vendors serve, how fast AI features are spreading, and how data quality and admin work affect sales productivity. It draws on official statistics from Eurostat, Ireland's Central Statistics Office and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, annual and quarterly filings from Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft and monday.com, a Zoho company announcement, IDC market share data, Gartner and Forrester research, and surveys by Salesforce, Pipedrive and Validity that publish their samples. Most figures describe 2025 and 2026; adoption rates cover the EU and Ireland, vendor figures are global, and survey samples are noted with each figure.

Quick answer

Fewer than three in ten businesses in Europe use CRM software: 28.51% of EU enterprises in 2025, ranging from 24.69% of small firms to 65.43% of large ones and from 55.79% in Finland to 11.92% in Bulgaria (Eurostat). Salesforce leads the market with a 20.0% worldwide share in 2025 (IDC), and 87% of sales organizations now use some form of AI (Salesforce, 2026). Data quality is the main weak point: 76% of CRM users say less than half of their CRM data is accurate and complete (Validity, 2025).

What the figures show

CRM is less universal than vendor marketing suggests. Eurostat counts 28.51% of EU enterprises with 10 or more employees using CRM software in 2025, up 2.68 points in two years, and Ireland's Central Statistics Office reports the same 28% for Irish firms. Size is the biggest divider: 65.43% of large enterprises use CRM against 24.69% of small ones. Sector and country matter almost as much, with information and communication firms at 63.14% and construction at 16.43%, and Finland at 55.79% against Bulgaria at 11.92%.

On the supply side, the market is led by one vendor and a long tail. IDC gives Salesforce a 20.0% worldwide CRM share in 2025, its 13th straight year in first place, and Salesforce's 10-K shows its core sales CRM line earning $9,028 million in fiscal 2026. Growth at the large vendors has settled into the low to high teens: Salesforce guides to 11% to 12% for fiscal 2027, Microsoft's Dynamics 365 grew 18% in fiscal 2026, and HubSpot expects 18% for 2026.

Customer counts show how much of the market is small business. HubSpot serves 311,704 customers at an average of $12,038 a year in subscription revenue, Zoho's group passed one million paying customers, and monday.com counts around 250,000 customers across its products including CRM. Over half of HubSpot's customers are outside the United States.

AI is the main area of change and also the most uncertain. Salesforce's survey finds 87% of sales organizations using AI and 54% of sellers having tried agents, and its Agentforce ARR passed $1.5 billion. Gartner measures 4.8 hours a week saved per seller but finds 72% of sales organizations fail to reinvest that time, and predicts fewer than 40% of sellers will say agents improved productivity by 2028. Underneath it all is data quality: Validity finds 76% of CRM users say less than half of their CRM data is accurate and complete, and Pipedrive finds 79% of professionals switch between tools to see a full customer record.

Common questions

What percentage of businesses use CRM software?
In the EU, 28.51% of enterprises with 10 or more employees used CRM software in 2025, according to Eurostat, up 2.68 percentage points from 2023. Ireland's Central Statistics Office reports 28% for Irish firms. Surveys of sales professionals report much higher rates because they only sample people who already work with a CRM.
Do large companies use CRM more than small ones?
Yes, by a wide margin. Eurostat found 65.43% of large EU enterprises (250 or more employees) used CRM in 2025, compared with 24.69% of small enterprises with 10 to 49 employees. Firms with fewer than 10 employees are not covered by the survey.
Which company has the largest CRM market share?
Salesforce, with a 20.0% share of the worldwide CRM market in 2025 according to IDC, its 13th consecutive year in first place. Its core sales CRM line generated $9,028 million of subscription revenue in fiscal 2026. Other large CRM vendors include Microsoft (Dynamics 365), HubSpot and Zoho.
How many customers does HubSpot have?
HubSpot had 311,704 paying customers on September 30, 2026, up 12% in a year, with average subscription revenue of $12,038 per customer. About 53% of its customers are outside the United States.
How many sales teams use AI in their CRM?
Salesforce's 2026 State of Sales survey found 87% of sales organizations use some form of AI and 54% of sellers have used AI agents. Gartner found AI saves sellers 4.8 hours a week, but 72% of sales organizations do not reinvest that time in high-value selling.
How accurate is CRM data?
Often not very. In Validity's 2025 survey of 602 CRM users, 76% said less than half of their organization's CRM data was accurate and complete, and 37% said poor data quality had directly cost them revenue.

How we picked these figures

Adoption rates come from official business surveys: Eurostat's 2025 survey on ICT usage in enterprises (EU enterprises with 10 or more employees, excluding the financial sector) and the matching Irish survey by the Central Statistics Office. Market share and revenue figures come from company filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft), company earnings releases (Salesforce, monday.com), a Zoho company announcement and IDC data as announced by Salesforce. Product lines differ between vendors: Salesforce reports sales, service, marketing and platform revenue separately, Microsoft's Dynamics 365 includes ERP as well as CRM, and Zoho and monday.com report customers across all their products, so vendor figures should not be added together or compared as market shares. Survey figures come from Salesforce (4,050 sales professionals in 22 countries, August to September 2025), Pipedrive (1,000 U.S. sales and marketing professionals who use a CRM, June 2026), Validity (602 CRM users in the U.S., U.K. and Australia, 2025), Gartner (chief sales officer and B2B buyer surveys in 2025 and 2026) and Forrester (2025 survey of business buyers). Vendor surveys are run by companies that sell CRM or data tools, and Gartner predictions are forecasts, not measurements. Each figure links to its source and quotes the sentence or table row that contains it. Each quote is copied from the original publisher and fetched again by a script to confirm it still appears there. See the methodology.
